July 30 at 17
Hosted By Raj & Charlie and Visuals by Peepshow
Aside from the mixing desk being inoperative half an hour before we started and the projector's bulb going halfway through the night, noWax at 17 went off with a bang. We had reached ticket number 38 by by 10:30 and built up such a queue we had to limit everyone to two tracks, then eventually, one track. Then it all got a bit manic. The peaks: The Peep Show projections; the free Bavara Beer for all the DJs and the moment someone dropped 'Hey Micky' by Toni Basil. The troughs: The projector breaking down; the DVD freezing and someone playing 'It's My Life' by Dr Alban.
Anyway, here's (some of) the playlist:
The B-Boy from Ipanema / DJ Z Trip
Blue Boy / Remember Me
Lynn Collins / Think (About It)

noWax parties are friendly events where people come together to share music. The nights are eclectic to say the least, so leave any judgements at the door along with any attitude. Every noWax is different and the vibe is usually dictated by the host and punters.
If you want to play, just take a ticket from the host and wait your turn.
THIS IS HOW WE DO IT ...
A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY ...
The first noWax was held in a bar called DreamBagsJaguarShoes
in the heart of Shoreditch, London, on the 3rd July 2003. With
little press and limited promotion, the name and reputation
soon spread.
Now an international phenomenon, noWax events have been held in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Vienna and even Tokyo. Anyone can host a noWax event of their own by signing up as a host on the noWax website.
Having run for over three years noWax has now received an
unprecedented amount of press, including BBC, The Evening
Standard, Metro, Time Out, The Guardian, The Independent,
Mac Format and Mixmag to name a few. We have also had
enormous exposure on the web in about a dozen languages
and even a slot on Swiss Radio.
If youd like to get in touch with the noWax crew you can
email info-AT-noWax.co.uk. Were always open to new ideas
and suggestions.
thanks for the add.
My husband almost managed to get you up and running in jersey but he was let down by his incompatent partner....shame as it would have been great.
sadly not many places over here were willing to put it up either....we're still working on it and will keep you posted.
