Who I'd like to meet:

We are looking for progressive women and men who support women's rights. Our focus issues are women's reproductive freedoms including access to safe abortions, over the counter birth control and emergency contraception and the repeal of abortion restrictions such as parental notification laws. We also support freedoms for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders including equal marriage and adoption rights. We support the civil rights agenda and are committed to affirmative action. We demand economic equality between women and and men. We are committed to ending violence against women and are especially concerned with the epidemic proportions of domestic violence in Orange County. If you feel you share our opinions, we would like to meet you. And even if you don't, we would like the opportunity to convince you.

hey just wanted to let you know that we have a very important show coming up and we need every one of our fans support. It is at the aka lounge in downtown orlando and it is a battle of the bands. Why is it so important you ask? Because the winner gets a spot on Earth day Birthday and if you dont know it is one of the biggest shows held in orlando every year. This year they have such bands as Kid rock, Shinedown, 3 Doors down and many others. The show is on thursday and like i said, at the Aka lounge. It is only five dollars and it starts at 10 p.m. If you have any questions just let us know and we cant wait to see you there.

National Day of Support of Abortion Providers
http://www.refuseandresist.org/ab/index.html

On this day -
Stand up with your abortion services providers and say:
Thank you for your heroism, perserverance, courage, and commitment to women.

* Praise clinic staff and doctors with cards and letters of appreciation. Let them know they have your support and thanks.
* Bring your local clinic staff flowers or a breakfast basket of fruit or muffins.
* Organize local appreciation day events.
* Organize with others to hold a March 10th dinner with area providers.
* Step up to the front lines and be a volunteer clinic escort.
* Ask your local provider how you can help.
* Write your local newspaper, call talk shows to express support.
* Take out ads in your newsletters and local newspapers.
* Use your imagination, creativity and dedication to help create a climate at clinics where women, doctors and staff can hold their heads high without feeling shamed or fearing assault.

The National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers was initiated in 1996 and co-sponsored by many national organizations and individuals, as a way to help stop the isolation and create a positive climate for abortion providers across the country. March 10th is the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. David Gunn, the first provider murdered by an anti-abortion extremist. It is a day to remember and honor Dr. Gunn and others who have and continue to put their lives on the line daily to make choice possible. Without abortion providers, there can be no "choice." And without choice women cannot be free to live and plan their lives!

In the shadow of the first federal ban on an abortion procedure and the criminalization of doctors who perform this service for women in need, and with the subsequent federal subpoenas of patient records, it is especially important right now to let providers know we stand with them.

Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando will be phone banking supporters on Monday, January 28. We are asking volunteers to come help call people and urge them to vote in the Presidential Primaries.

Florida's primaries will be held the following day, Tuesday January 29. We will be calling from noon-8pm. This is a great opportunity for volunteers to connect with PP supporters.

Since PPGO is a c3, there will be no mention of any candidates.

Please email Lisa at lmurano@ppgo.org or Jenna at jcawley@ppgo.org if you would like to participate or have any questions!

Sugar & Spice & Things Not So Nice..

What would you do?

Sugar and spice and everything nice.

This is suppose to be every little girls life.

What happens when life is not like that?

What if the people who are suppose to protect you fill your life with constant abuse?

For little Katelynn of Indiana, her life is filled with this from a father, stepmother and father's family; everyone but her the relatives that love her have been denied the ability to see her.

What happens when the police will not stop this?

Than try Child Protection Service, but they will not stop this either.

The next thing to do is go to the court.

What would you do if the Child Protection Services and the court helped the abusers hurt her?

The media might work but they ignore majority of average people.

In this search for help, several politicians ignored or said stop bothering them.

If these people will not help little katelynn of Indiana than who will?

Will this little girl have to pay the ultimate price for these adults’ mistakes?

NoW…,WhAt WiLl yOu Do?!

This is Indiana's Shame and these are Teardrops for Katelynn
