Post-Hendrix space-grunge with progressive fusion elements,
Noxshi comb the sub-strata of the mind's fibres. The name
‘Noxshi’ (Nok-she) relates to an area of the Caucasus, a region
that represents the meeting of the Islamic East with the secular
West. Structured songs interweave with ambient improvisations
amid the spiralling sounds of the infinite.
The band formed around the central axis of singer Yoriyos and
guitarist Hallam Kite in mid 2008. Keys and samples are
provided by Ben Steer and the trans-European rhythm section,
of French drummer Philippe Boudot and Swedish bassist
Alexander Gabay, deliver powerfully infectious grooves.
Noxshi are a fierce live force armed to the teeth with driving
exotic rhythms, soaring guitar solos and voices that deteriorate
into synthetic screams. In 2009 supported Yusuf, Baaba Maal and U2 at the Shepherds Bush
Empire, Peter Murphy at the Indigo O2 and CKY at the Sheffield Leadmill.
Noxshi create music designed to be infectious on the level of the subliminal harmonic brainframe.
