The "Spirit of Northwestern" Marching Band is a focal point of pride at athletic events, in parades and at other University functions throughout the year. On the street or on the field, their regal purple and white uniforms reflect the class and spirit of one of the South's oldest and finest educational institutions.Music and marching formations are a unique blend of traditional and contemporary styles.
To all you Alumn out there...some of you may be fully aware of the budget shortfall in Louisiana. Well, in the legislature and Governor's infinite wisdom they feel it would be a good idea to cut several hundred million from La. higher education. This means our already underfunded, and beloved, NSU is going to be losing around $7,000,000 in state funding. They have already made cuts to staff and services. Many people have lost their jobs and the ones fortunate enough to have their job will be furloughed(vacation w/o pay).
I know for some of us things may already be tight due to the economy but for those of you who are doing o.k. let's find some spare dolloars to send NSU's way. My friends it is about to get pretty bad for our Alma Mater.
I know it is cliche' but "Every little bit helps".
What’s up Demons? Thanks for adding ScoolTunes. We welcome your friendship and think your music is great. You could be fundraising by selling lots of CDs and DVDs at your games and school events. Let me know if you need professional CD/DVD manufacturing. –ST
Time to step up...when will we start seeing some mics on the sideline and some digital recordings of the SON shows. It'd be nice to get away from the old tape/mic on the cam and go digital with EVERYTHING!! But until then...keep rolling with the incredible footage of THE best band in the land!
Northwestern Band Rocks !! Thanks for the friend add. Be sure to check out the award winning marching band movie, From The 50 Yard Line, now available on DVD. www. FromThe50YardLine. com/DVD. html
