I have experienced so much in life ... from wanting & wearing a mask, to pretending to be cool, to pretending to be "strong" & "impenetrable", to throwing away the mask and all the acts, to simply being "me", to accepting me the way I am, and still striving every day to grow... that I oftentimes feel as if I have lived several different "lifetimes" during my stay on this thing we call "earth".
As a teen, I was cocky, cool and insecure....

I love to travel and have had the pleasure of spending time in England, Scotland and France, as well as Puerto Rico, St. Croix and other islands in the Caribbean, Aruba being my favorite.

..I still want to visit Italy, France (again), the Czech Republic, Sweden,Thailand and the islands of the South Pacific.
In the process, I have learned, forgotten and relearned much about life. I am a hopeless romantic and have been quite unable to do anything about that...

During the late 60's and early '70's, I was a hippie, an activist for social change and a radical who marched on Washington during the Nixon Anti-Inaugural and who campaigned for the first black politician to run for mayor of Bessemer, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham.
This led in to my attending law school and my first legal lifetime as a civil rights & anti-death penalty lawyer in a salt & pepper law firm in Mobile, Alabama.
During the late 60's and early '70's, I was a hippie, an activist for social change and a radical who marched on Washington during the Nixon Anti-Inaugural and who campaigned for the first black politician to run for mayor of Bessemer, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham.

During the mid-70's, I began a lifetime of work on myself, on finding "me",and finally became more whole as a person, happier, more outgoing, more playful and certainly more secure. I have not let fear inhibit or slow me down since age 35 ... until recently, when I began to consider whether I was ready to enter into a new relationship.
While fear once drug me down; fear soon became an ally, one whose hand I hold while facing what in the past would have been considered troubling or "fearful" times. No longer did friends consider me "moody" or "serious".... I became playful, outgoing, real, sincere and somewhat outrageous in nature. For the first time, I loved life and loved living it!

In the late 80's & early 90's, I manifested first as an SCCA amateur race car driver; then went professional, racing a GT-1 car in the IMSA series on road racing tracks all over the south and east, from Sebring in south Florida, to Daytona, to Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina and to Mid-Ohio and Watkins Glenn in New York.
Slamming into a 30 - 50 mph corner at approach speeds of 160 - 170 mph was totally exhilarating.
Surviving the corner defined being alive!

I became a criminal lawyer, a divorce lawyer and later a personal injury attorney. I am no longer an attorney. I am now looking at going in to teaching at the college level.
