About me:

Born in 1993 Nude started what was to become one of the most successful labels of its generation signing artists with distinction and style.

It began life with the band credited for pioneering the culturally important britpop explosion, Suede.

Suede had the fastest selling debut album for over 10 years with the release of 'Suede'. They went on to land the Mercury Music Prize and featured on every magazine cover around the world. Success continued with the release of 5 star albums such as 'Dog Man Star' and 'Coming Up' which culled 5 top 10 singles in the UK chart. A 3rd No 1 album followed in 1998 with Head Music, notching up 5 million worldwide sales.

The label grew with the same aesthetic, intent on putting out great music that changed people's lives.

Amongst the label's other successes were essential classic album releases by Ultrasound, Geneva, Lowgold, Black Box Recorder and Billy Mackenzie. Their singles and albums embraced the top 40 while other artists such as The Jennifers (who went on to become Supergrass), Gloss, Goya Dress and Sharkboy all released special nude albums.

In 2005 Nude put the art back into pop with an album dedicated to the great John Peel in celebration of great new music with the release of 'Future's Burning' – The Definitive Guide to the new generation of guitar bands, featuring Franz Ferdinand, The Libertines, Bloc Party, Razorlight and The Kaiser Chiefs amongst others.

More recently the label has worked with Brighton's Rock Upstarts Blood Red Shoes and Get Well Soon – the musical alter ego of 22 year old Konstantin Gropper.

Nude's commitment and mission is to discover and work with artists that record and perform music that can give you the greatest three minutes of your life... to continue to change people's lives forever.
