RETURNING TO THE AIR WAVES OF HOUSTON after 2 weeks of convention coverage – WE’RE BACK!!! And we missed 2 weeks of giving free stuff away so we’re catching up tonight!
For our big return, we HAD planned to bring you, not one, BUT TWO Pulitzer Prize winners this evening, but unfortunately, Junot Diaz will not be able to make it tonight…..boo hoo. However, we will be bringing him to you later in October as The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao is Las Comadres’ October Book of the Month!
We will however be giving away tickets to his Houston speaking engagement next Monday the 15th at Hobby Center’s Zilka Hall - brought you by the Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series.
So, there will be only ONE Pulitzer prize winner on tonight’s show, a courageous survivor of the NYC 9/11 attack and one of our very own NP Alumni who’s returning to Houston to put on a show all for you - our wonderful listening (and supporting) audience.
And tons of giveways to make up for the 2 weeks of vacation we enjoyed.
And you guessed it, you can meet all of tonight's guests at Nuestra Palabra’s Edward James Olmos Latino Book and Family Festival:
September 20 and 21, 2008
George R. Brown Convention Center, Hall A-3
1001 Avenida de las Americas
Houston, TX 77010

Welcome to the Latino Literary Renaissance........
Founded in 1998, Nuestra Palabra: Latino Writers Having Their Say has gone from the party hall of Chapultepec Restaurant to Exhibit Hall F of the George R. Brown Convention Center. When we began, we were told that there was not an audience for Latino literature. We are thrilled to say that today the largest book events in Houston are Latino events. We are proud to bring you Houston's contribution to the Latino Literary Renaissance. Tune into 90.1 FM KPFT Houston every Tuesday at 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM CST for our radio show, or visit www.kpft.org to download the show.
