Nuevos Ricos was founded 2004 by composer Julian Lede, visual artist Carlos amorales and graphic designer André Pahl and is an aspiring cult label project based in Mexico City with a catalogue of highly catatonic sounds. The label has chosen a number of rock and electronic oriented acts that have tremendous stage presence. These bands have a dance music quality that is cathartic; they want the audience to break loose at their events and become part of the performance. Being performance oriented means that they have to be extremely precise in the way they build their shows: the kind of place, the atmosphere, the hour, and the levels of intensity. NUEVOS RICOS bands are not to be listened to passively, but to be shouted at and to be danced to. NUEVOS RICOS works as a platform to expose their radical ideas about performance, music, show business and even political position... .. NUEVOS RICOS also has a visual side that is strongly graphic and that fusion with the music through the record covers and the make up of the performing space. To shout NUEVOS RICOS uses posters, banners and slogans as well... .. NUEVOS RICOS are convinced that through the use of irony they can play a healthy game within the boundaries of the art and the music industries to respond against an attitude where the products are defined solely by the needs of the markets and the institutions. An attitude that confines the artists to participate in a game where to be critical they have to play their role as mercenaries. In this regard, by creating their means as a company, NUEVOS RICOS has to play in a way that is not cynical, neither happy... .. .. NUEVOS RICOS takes the initiative and gets to top from the rear... .. NUEVOS RICOS represents the following artists: Titán, Silverio, Aux Raus, Dick el Demasiado, Felix Kubin, Faca, Lasser Moderna, Jessy Bulbo, Thom Revolver, Maria Daniela y su Sonido Lasser, Miki and 3rd Ear..... ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- .. .. En septiembre del 2004 el compositor Julián Lede, el artista Carlos Amorales y el diseñador André Pahl se encontraron en la Ciudad de México en donde decidieron cambiar radicalmente su situación económica y social; fundando la compañía disquera NUEVOS RICOS, un nuevoconcepto en el negocio del entretenimiento... Inspirados en la doctrina "El dinero no compra la felicidad, pero quien quiere ser feliz?" Los NUEVOS RICOS rápidamente fijaron sus miras en el Viejo continente: desembarcaron en el pequeño pueblo de Lucca, en Italia, para desde allí invadir el mercado europeo, logrando a la fecha que la transnacional EMI distribuya sus productos musicales... Los NUEVOS RICOS están convencidos de que a través del uso de la ironía ellos pueden proponer un juego sano dentro de los confines tanto de la industria del entretenimiento como la del arte, respondiendo contra una actitud en la cual los productos artísticos y musicales son el resultado definido por las necesidades del mercado y las instituciones. Una actitud que confina al artista y músico a participar en un juego en el que para ser critico a de funcionar como un mercenario. En este sentido, al crear sus propios medios, la compañía NUEVOS RICOS juega de una manera que no es cínica, aunque tampoco es feliz...
