things i wish i sounded like (in the least stalkery way possible): Iszoloscope, Project Zero, Converter, Skinny Puppy, Silent Hill, Perfect Blue, Boogiepop Phantom, Tarmvred, Merzbow, Eraserhead, Pi, Shinjuku Thief...
other random influences: ragtime, off-key pianos, swing, a daft punk song, trains drains rains...ah, ya get the gist :P
Sounds Like
Fave description ever: "That sounded like giant robots dragging themselves across the earth and drilling occasionally!"
Least fave: "Um....(awkward silence)...Are you sure that's a real style of music?"
null hypothesis has been wandering distractedly around the Melbourne muzaky scene for a few years, mostly annoying people but managing to avoid getting hit. The occasional spurts of music fall between textural ambient stuff and powernoisy cranky beats - attempts are made at structuring songs properly but they mostly come out sounding.....outsider arty....Most of the samples are derived from technical faults or drastically messed up field recordings.
Events of note include the Distorted festival, Kiss My After Effects, and the Teknikunst 2005 art exhibition. Film projects include A Strange Little Thing and Transference, the latter receiving a nomination for Best Audio in the 2005 15/15 short film competition.

Wooohaaaaa!!! Braindrop is throwing its very first boat party on Saturday 6 June.
A night of swashbuckling bass mayhem on the high seas! Bringing you big and bwaad bass, beats and pieces of eight courtesy of:
** THE McMASH CLAN ** ** THE PANACEA ** ** MUMDANCE ** ** BEN PHAZE ** **THE EMO HUNTER** ** BASS6 **
The vessel is specially equipped to hold large groups of people (and all the extra bass bins we can squeeze on). Her name is The Dutch Master and she be a mighty fine boat too!
It's going to be a ridiculously fun rinse up. However, if you think you can get away with being remotely serious and/or cool at this party - ye be mistaken. The Braindrop Boat Rave is fancy dress: Pirate's from the 80's. Arrgh...better get thinkin what ye gonna wear.
