The modern Olde English Bulldogge is a reconstruction of the original Olde Bulldogge of the 17th and 18th century. Various genetic crosses have been used in carefully and thoughtfully planned breeding programs to obtain this goal. The foundation of most of today's Olde English Bulldogges can be traced to English Bulldog, American Pit Bull, American Bulldog and Old English Mastiff.
These dogs were used very selectively in various combinations to obtain the desired physical and mental traits of the original Olde English Bulldogge. The result has been a good looking Bulldogge of great athletic ability that is much healthier and physically fit without most or all of the problems that plague today's modern English Bulldogs. The goal of all Olde English Bulldogge breeders should be to produce genetically healthier Bulldogges that are free breathers, free breeders, and free whelpers.
The IOEBA's detailed breed standard is the best guide as to what the perfect Olde English Bulldogge should look like according to the International Olde English Bulldogge Association. It is recommended that it be used by today's Olde breeders in an effort to maintain the high standards that the breeders of the past and the IOEBA have set fourth.
yeah we enrolled him at petsmart, hes on his 4th week now. so far his teacher's impressed with him coz he's improved with his walking on leash, sit and down. hes just having a hard time ontrolling himself when hes hyper haha. i guess puppies are like that. i just uploaded new photos of him. i took them this morning when he was going crazy looking at my small dogs running around. we're scared he might step on them. hes paws are as big as my lil dog's heads haha
haha thanks for the comment and pics. last time we were at the vet, leo weighed 30lbs, i bet he weighs more now. were his parents or uncle or sister hyper too before? coz right now, no one can control him. we tried tying him to a 1gallon water container and he dragged it around the garage when we got him. then we tried tread mill and he drags it too now. we're gonna try the van next! haha
She should have her second heat cycle in about 4 months. Maybe she and Baily could meet up and get aquainted first, for a playdate, then they can meet again when her cycle begins. How are the pups doing??
Hi. Good luck with LuLu today! Who's the lucky stud??? Lilly is doing well, she just turned 8 months. I will have to take some more pictures and post them soon.
There is this guy in Stockton, owned by a guy named Alex. I can give you his email or try to dig up his phone number for you if you're interested. He has also stated that he would love to have a meet up if all of us local Bulldogge owners ever decide to get together. Here is a picture:
