I’ve felt prompted recently to explore who I am and to begin to put my perceptions into words. This may be of no interest to you, in which case, I thank you for dropping by and hope you’ll visit again when something that interests you is posted. If, however, you are feeling the warm sensation in your bosom that draws you to know more, I pray that you will find something here that will resonate truth, joy, and harmony with your soul.
I am a very spirit-driven person. I rely on the influence of the Holy Spirit, prayer and my intuition to guide me through life. I know that many choices in life are simply a matter of personal taste or preference, and I don’t feel compelled to seek counsel for those things. However, I am aware that many experiences we have in life have a great effect on future events, however insignificant they may seem at the time. I prefer to be in tune with the Spirit so that I can recognize spiritual promptings in these matters.
I often refer to the spiritual learning experiences I have as “lessons.” I don’t say this in the literal meaning of the word, as in sitting at the feet of a master or following curriculum from a teacher in a classroom. There may, in fact, be a more descriptive term of this type of spiritual growth; but one chooses vocabulary that one is familiar with; so I use the term “lesson” as a descriptor of the process of gaining wisdom and insight through spiritual experience. Perhaps one way of thinking of this is that I don’t need a teacher and a lesson plan to teach me not to grab the hot toast stuck in the toaster and try to pry it out with my bare hands. I learned that lesson, and it only took one experience.
Some people might refer to me as a medium because I sometimes communicate with angels or spirits. Although I do some things that mediums do, mediumship is not my goal or focus.
Others may call me a psychic because I am blessed to receive psychic impression, dreams and vision; but I have little in common with those who refer to themselves as psychics. I prefer not to label myself as “A” psychic because I believe that we are all psychic. There is no more reason to set oneself apart as “A” psychic than there is to call oneself “A” homosapien. Everyone else in the world is one, too.
The term “sensitive” is often used to describe people who, like me, are sensitive to spiritual or paranormal phenomena. One who experiences this sensitivity to or awareness of spirits may be labeled “A” sensitive; but any person can be sensitive if there is a genuine need and desire for this awareness.
Many people would define me by my religion, whether to hold me to the high standards of my beliefs or to denounce me as a heretic. While I am a person of great faith, I am not my religion, and my religion is not what those outside it think it is. I do not keep my religion secret; but I hold it sacred, as I do ALL religion. There is profound truth in all religions devoted to moral principles and honoring righteous divinity.
I might be considered an herbalist because I frequently use herbal medicine and aromatherapy for natural healing; but my knowledge of herbs is very limited. I’m not entirely opposed to Western medicine. There is value in all good medicine, whether it is allopathic or naturopathic. One should be willing to utilize the medicine that is best and most conducive to total wellness without prejudice.
The word “metaphysical” could describe some of what I do. To some this is a word of high esteem while to others it carries a meaning more like “nut” or “witch” or “antichrist.” I have investigated many metaphysical concepts, and my conclusion is that there are countless methods and tools for healing and spirituality, as there are countless individuals seeking to use them. When we are ready to embrace a new method or move on to a higher level of understanding, isn’t it wonderful to know that there is something more out there for us to move on to?
Who am I?
To know who we are is to accept that there is purpose to our lives. We are not accidental beings in a randomly organized universe. There is order in the universe. There is order in chaos. There is value in everything and in nothing. Yes, nothingness has value. There is purpose in existence. To know who we are is to embrace our uniqueness and our commonality. It is to recognize the spark of the Creator within us and to acknowledge without judgment that which makes us both ordinary and extraordinary. I know who I am when who I am is neither good nor bad, rich nor poor, brilliant nor idiotic, wise nor foolish. I am who I am. I am.
I am.
When I can say, “I am” without feeling a compulsion to finish the sentence with something more, I begin to embrace who I am.
When I embrace who I am, I can begin to describe who I am.
I know that I am like everyone else in the world in that I have a spirit body living with my physical body, and these dimensions of me combine to make me who I am today. I am blessed to understand that there is existence before and after this. Just as there was a day before this day (yesterday) and there is a day after this day (tomorrow), so there is an existence before this mortal existence and one that follows. This spirit that I am was not just born when this body that I am was born. It existed before this mortal life and it will exist when this body has given up its mortality. This simple concept was simply not in my vocabulary until more recent years; but understanding it has served to put much of life experience into perspective.
I have come to understand that I am unlike everyone else in the way that my individual gifts and characteristics are assembled. Gifts, talents, and characteristics aren’t just placed into us like a grocery list. We are constructed with them as in beautiful intricate tapestries. The completed work of art is unique and marvelous. Each of us really is one of a kind. Each of us is worthy of high regard.
I know that there are those in this life whom I have met before this existence. I am blessed to find those precious souls that I recognize from before. I am thankful for that, “I think I know you” feeling that draws us to each other.
I have no doubt that this spirit that is me will not cease to exist when my body has drawn its last breath. A great peace fills my soul when I consider life beyond this life. I am grateful for the understanding that this mortal existence is only a speck of time.
There are certain standards that I live by and agreements that I have made for this life, and there are those I’ve made before this existence that I hold myself to in this life. Knowing this helps me to search myself for these promises and to find in them my purpose.
I am here in this brief existence to find my way home and to help others to do the same. I am here to be a part of the gathering that is already underway. It is my mission to listen and to interpret for those who cannot hear. I am blessed with an awareness of the spirit world and spiritual discernment. I am blessed to understand and appreciate simple truth. While it is honorable for many to share profound truth with eloquent words and performing of amazing miracles, this is not my path. My path is always one of simplicity. There is black and white. There is no gray. What is is.

I am blessed to have family history archives and notebooks filled with family photos spanning generations. One of my projects is to scan photos to share with other family members and people interested in genealogy. I'm uploading pictures to Flickr.com at http://www.flickr.com/photos/nursehealer/LINK
I'd like to meet people with a genuine interest in
spirituality and
holistic healing of body, mind, and spirit, people with a fascination for psychic and paranormal phenomena, and intelligent people with a high regard for integrity, honor, virtue, wisdom, truth, and faith. May I aspire to be someone these people would like to meet.
My goal is to help create a Better World... the following is a list of just a few of the things I support and will be working to achieve....
MY GOALS FOR A BETTER WORLD * Peace (between individuals, groups, and nations) - A world at peace * Love (unconditional love for mankind and all living and nonliving things) - A world filled with love * Joy (joy in life and for life even though there is also sorrow) - A world filled with joy * Hope (hope inspires us to carry on, to forge through, to endure to the end) - A world that knows hope * Beauty (there is beauty in all that the eye can behold if the mind can perceive it) - A beautiful world
How can I help to achieve these goals?
In each moment we make a choice. I can choose in this moment to hold these goals in my thoughts and desires. By doing so, I will make choices in each moment that lend themselves to bringing my life experience a little closer to realization of these goals. As I exhibit characteristics and actions in harmony with these desires, my life experience will be drawn to and draw unto it those experiences that are in harmony with these goals. As I create my own personal existence and seek those who have similar goals, we together make the world a better place.
