About me:
My Wife Suzanne and I run the 55 Jive Rock 'N' Roll Club.North Devon every Friday night at the "Robins Nest" Bideford AFC, Bideford, North Devon.We cater mainly for 50s style jivers(NOT MODERN)and play anything from the early fifties through to late fifties we do include good modern bands who play good covers but tend to play mainly the originals.I spin the discs and am know as "Nutrocker". It is not a big club, we have just over 70 members and average between 40-50 every Friday. Our club is a very friendly club and we try to create a very welcoming and inviting environment so if you're ever down in the South West on Holiday(Weather permitting!!)look us up and enjoy a great evening of Rock 'N' Roll. We hold 5 live band nights a year and bands we have had over the last couple of years have been, The Jets, The Firebirds, Kingcats, Rudy Lacrioux, Blast Off to name a few. Between us we also run a wedding car buisness "50s Dream Car Hire" and have a 1958 Buick Special in Pink over White that tie in nicely with the lifestyle we lead. We try to go to as many weekenders as is possible but could only do "The Shakedown" this year due to other commitments but have planned in a few for next year, The Rave,The Shakedown and The Rockabilly Boogie.
