  • Bio

.. .. .. .. .. Born of the earth and the air, on a gorgeously cold day at the end of February. A fire brewing in his belly at a young age unaware of the influence he would have on the world. Growing up with his grandmother in the west of the cities capital, every Sunday afternoon after the roast, she would iron clothes of the bourgeoisie and play reggae and lover’s rock; and sometimes ska on Saturdays. It was here he gained his first insight into music and the wonderful feelings it could produce. After picking up a tambourine in nursery, there would be no stopping him. One day while out with his mother, she promised she would buy him a record, anything he liked. He was a totally vinyl virgin, he just went for the one with the most colourful artwork, He picked up Big Daddy Kane ‘Long live the Kane’, and once home, he was captivated with the sounds he heard. Went into the barber shop a week later and order a flat top, bought some addidas (or a close counterpart) and wore colourful tracksuits – chains were out of the question. Half way through school things to took a turn for the worst, as his friends deserted him at the discovery of a new species on the play ground, girls. They smelled nicer than boys and their skin was softer, where did they come from and why didn’t they notice them before. Whatever the answers for these questions, he was alone now. For attention, the silliest schemes would be devised, causing much mischief to fall on the youngster, forcing him to go to a child specialist. After a single session he grew sick of talking about his father and shit, so he left and thought, ‘fuck it, I’ll just pick up music.’ His ‘so-called’ friends called him the Nutty Professor, due to his likeness of the character, although this pretty much brought tears to his eyes, he began to so the funny side of it, thus the pseudonym. That was just the beginning, through his college years he morphed his bedroom into a studio and started making music there (obviously). This gained him the attention of some of the local emcees in his area, there was something different about his sound, something addictive. Working hip hop, rock, pop, r n b into his sounds, he became an instant hit at youth clubs across the land, (or at least in Ladbroke Grove) where did he come from? Who knew him? Where was he going? He probably didn’t know the answers to these questions. He was satisfied. He had attention from those strange species he didn’t understand at the time called ‘ladies’ and his peers. Creative writing flowed through his soul from the time a pen appeared into his left hand, thus poetry was essential, although the first rap he’d performed was a freestyle at his cousin’s 13th birthday, being a master of ceremony was a must. Developing his flow and lyric wit, not to mention stage presence courtesy of many different gigs across our fair city. It was more than for the attention of girls now; he could actually make himself a worthy artist. Stuck in the limbo of being a hip hop emcee, but too polite too battle, and a talented writer, not commercial enough to be pop, he struggles daily with trying to provide the world with a service of supplying wonderful music and a positive message but at the same time, not trying to give the impression that everything is rosie in the music game. Far from famous but far from nameless. Welcome to the outback, home of Tank Girl, The Maxx and Nutty P. Dangerously. .. .. .. .. ..
