I NuuMaK nascono nel 2004 dal progetto ideato dal cantante chitarrista Deiana Manolo,
L'intento è di formare una band forte ed affiatata in grado di
affrontare il mondo musicale sotto tutte le sue sfaccettature. Il cantante dei
NuuMaK dedica un'intero anno a studiare a fondo la sua musica per creare il
suo sound.
...Arriva il 2004...
Il primo componente che affianca Manolo è Marco (chitarra), i due sono amici
dai tempi della scuola... Insieme tirano su i primi pezzi di chitarra che
verranno successivamente lavorati meglio con l'arrivo di John (batteria)...qui
nasce la prima canzone dei NuuMaK "Father of Life".
...Autunno 2005 entra nella band il quarto componente, Eddy (Basso).
L'idea dei NuuMak è quella di sviluppare un vero sound METAL d'impatto e un DARK che esprima al meglio la voglia di melodia e
creazione del suono. I NuuMaK non vogliono avere limiti di genere e di suono.
I NuuMak vogliono estremizzare tutto quello che gli passa per la testa.
...Il 24 febbraio 2006 i NuuMak escono live per la prima volta in un locale
della loro città.
Nell..Estate del 2006 vengono invitati a partecipare nel concorso regionale"
Rumori di Fondo". .Il primo premio: "una registrazione gratis". Il tutto si
conclude in due giorni. Passate le prime selezioni i NuuMaK vincono il primo
premio, così iniziano le registrazioni di "SHOUT" il primo CD della band.
I NuuMak chiudono il 2006 con una esperienza grandiosa, molto significativa
ed importante per la loro cultura e crescita musicale. In Autunno la band viene
a conoscenza di un concorso mondiale che darà la
possibilità solo a 25 band in tutto il mondo di esibirsi in un grande concerto
a LONDRA nel famigerato " ASTORIA" la notte del 12 dicembre 2006.
25 band provenienti da tutto il mondo, chiamate a rappresentare la propria
Nazione. Questo concorso organizzato dalla "GBOB" si chiama "THE GLOBAL BATTLE
OF THE BAND".
Iniziano a Ottobre le prime selezioni a ROMA(Italy). I NuuMaK arrivano primi conquistando nettamente i voti della giuria e del pubblico...Continuano le selezioni... I
NuuMaK passano tutte le selezioni e arrivano a suonare nella finale nazionale
svolta a BOLOGNA(Italy) il 5 di Novembre 2006. Quella sera suonarono le sei
bands finaliste d'Italia. I NuuMaK vincono anche la finale nazionale agiudicandosi il titolo di
miglior band italiana, con l'incarico di rappresentare la propria Nazione a
LONDRA, nella finale mondiale della GBOB!
I NuuMaK cavalcano il palco dell'ASTORIA.
La cosa che più è piaciuta alla band di questa esperienza magnifica e
impagabile, è il fatto di essere stati uno dei gruppi di ragazzi che ha colpito
di più con il suo look e genere musicale "sicuramente inaspettato da una band
italiana" totalmente diverso dalle altre 24 band del mondo ( tutte molto brave
e con alta qualità tecnica). Tutti dall'Italia si aspettavano le classiche
"marionette pop" ma non è stato così. Il suono e l'impatto scenico dei NuuMaK
ha cambiato radicalmente questa stupida visione dell'Italia pop che avevano i
ragazzi del resto del mondo Rock...Ai NuuMak interessava dimostrare QUESTO.
Tornati in Italia, la loro esperienza viene
raccontata su giornali e riviste tra le varie province e non solo, gia prima
di andare in Inghilterra sono state scritte diverse recensioni che parlavano
dei NuuMaK, in diverse città d'Italia scritte dai componenti
delle varie giurie incontrate nelle selezioni italiane della GBOB.
... Il 24 febbraio 2007 i NuuMaK chiudono il concerto dei
"Rezophonic"(Rock TV) al "VIDIA CLUB" di CESENA (Italy) , un bellissimo locale live
italiano.
...Febbraio 2007, I NuuMak vengono contattati da una Agenzia Americana.
Maggio 2007... I NuuMak vogliono un quinto elemento nella band con l'idea di
potenziare ancora di più il loro sound per il tour americano. Così entra nella
band Alessandro De Tommaso(Tommy); amico del cantante Manolo.
...Agosto 2007... La band decide di mettersi subito alla prova iscrivendosi all'
ennesimo concorso musicale, dieci giorni prima di partire per l'America.
Questo concorso è a Suzzara in provincia di Mantova (Italia).
I NuuMak conquistano la giuria di Suzzara, arrivando primi classificati
aggiudicandosi il primo premio.
Per tenersi in "allenamento live" nel mese di Novembre si iscrivono di nuovo
al concorso Mondiale della GBOB: il "Global Battle of the Band" riuscendo ad
arrivare di nuovo alle finali Nazionali, al "People of Art" di Modena.
Sempre nel mese di Novembre i NuuMak vengono chiamati dai rappresentanti della GBOB in Italia, per fare da supporto alla band Hard Rock femminile Finlandese
"MELDRUM" accompagnate dal Leggendario Batterista Metal "GENE HOGLAN" una legenda internazionale vivente, a tutti noto per la sua parte di carriera
passata nei " Death, Testament, Dark Angel, Slayer e attualmente con i
Strappin Young Lad e non solo..."
I NuuMak vivono un'importante esperienza, imparando moltissime cose da Gene Hoglan durante i Live fatti in giro per L'Italia.
Dicembre 2007... i NuuMak vengono contattati da una rivista Inglese di musica alternativa "DEVOLUTION" . I NuuMak escono nella compilation della rivista con la canzone : SLAVE.
Nel Gennaio 2008 i NuuMak iniziano a lavorare anche con parti elettroniche insieme a un amico del cantante, Ciro Autiero.
Ciro è un programmatore di Groove Box.
...Maggio del 2008... i Nuumak partono in Polonia per suonare nel " RABEL ANGELS TOUR 2008".
...Agosto 2008..I NuuMak suonano con Pino Scotto a Suzzara.

The NuuMaK were formed in 2004 from a project by the singer guitarist Manolo, after lots of failed projects with other musicians.
Manolo intended to form a strong, solid band capable of facing the world musically and morally speaking.
Being bored by the people that surrounded him, Manolo decided to stay alone for a year and studied deeply his music to create his own sound.
After this process he started the real quest to form the band that in 2004 will become the NuuMaK, having understood that it was time to grow up, work and exceed the limits together with other people.
The first person that joined Manolo was Marco (guitar), the two of them have been friends from the school days and know each other very well…
Marco starts playing classic guitar at the age of twelve and getting the first bases from the academy of music. Marco approached other bands as a drummer, but in the end he started playing electric guitar with NuuMaK.
Manolo and Marco worked on guitars riffs that have been subsequently revised when John (drums) joined the band.
The first NuuMaK song was born: “Father Of Life”.
John started playing at the age of eighteen but his talent as a drummer became soon clear.
After having studied in the local school music he studied drums by himself taking inspiration from the great international metal drummers: Italian drummers didn’t motivate him too much.
John had different musical experiences, he toured Europe with a metal core band from Rome.
During fall of 2005 the member number four joined the band: Eddy (bass).
This line up created new songs and played every day: things were starting to go better.
Eddy starter playing at the age of sixteen as a self-taught musician.
Before NuuMaK his previous experiences were not so pleasant, Eddy feels as a sort of outcast and he spends these first periods working on his personality.
His peculiar personality mingled with NuuMaK without any problem.
NuuMaK were in need of a fifth member but they were sick of people that were in their environment and they decided to start performing with a four people line up.
Their idea was to develop a truly METAL sound with a huge impact on the audience and a GOTHIC mood that expressed the desire for melody and sound creativity.
NuuMaK didn’t want to have limits they wanted to push everything to the extremes consequences.
In 2006 the NuuMaK came out from very hard working days spent in order to buy the adequate equipment for their sound, that is to say extra guitars and certain pedals for guitars and bass.
24th of February 2006… the NuuMaK perform live for the first time in a local club.
Everything goes for the best, the club is full of people, and everyone is curios about the sound of the band.
The impact has been sudden and devastating and the sounds of synths, guitars and bass dragged all the audience… rumours about NuuMaK sound easily spread over.
Clubs started to ask for NuuMak gigs and the band had more and more followers.
In the summer of 2006 NuuMak participated to a local contest “Rumori di Fondo”, the prize was a free recording session.
The contest is in a two days event and the NuuMak win and recorded their first CD: “Shout”.
For the band is the first step in understanding how they want their sound to come out from the recording and it has been a good starting point for the future… Unfortunately in Italy there are no studios able to record this sort of extreme music so they took inspiration from the sounds created in the best international studios.
The NuuMaK ended 2006 with a glorious experience, very important for their culture and musical development and C.V.
In Fall the band participated to a world contest: the prize is a gig in London at the famous “Astoria Club” with other bands from all over the world in the night of 12th December.
Only 25 band played representing 25 different countries.
This contest is called the GBOB, “The Global Battle Of The Bands”.
The selection started in October in Rome, where NuuMaK won conquering the jury and the audience.
NuuMak won all selections until the national final on the 5th of November 2006 in Bologna.
That night the best six Italian bands played but the sound of NuuMaK shook the stage: they won the final and got the opportunity to represent their country in London.

What NuuMaK enjoyed most about this experience was the fact they shocked the audience with their music and their outlook so “unexpected from an Italian band”. All other bands were very different from NuuMaK although they were of excellent qualities.
International audience expected from Italy the usual shitty pop band, but the sound of NuuMaK has changed completely this stupid point of view.
NuuMaK wanted to show THIS to the entire world: in Italy exists METAL music played with guts and not only the fucking shit produced by fucking Italian major labels!
The labels with their shitty attitude the majors make the people forget or ignore the real music, played with heart, passion, sacrifice and… soul.
NuuMaK are proud because they hit their primary target: to make the people talk about them and to shake the scene a little. Music must come to surface in every aspect!
When NuuMaK came back to Italy their experience appeared on local and national magazines and newspapers, most of the elements of the different juries of the GBOB… it’s not so easy to make all noise in Italy…
February 2007: NuuMaK continue to perform to promote their CD… on the 24th of February they close the concert of the “Rezophonic” at the “Vidia Club” in Cesena (Italy), a very cool Italian club for live music.
The Rezophonic are a band composed by very famous Italian rock musicians and their gigs are benefits for water wells in Africa. This one of the great powers of music: help people when politics and economy don’t want to help.
The NuuMaK needed a fifth member to improve the GOTHIC sound they were looking for.
They tried to find this person in the North Italy scene with the help of a friend very active in the experimental music scene in Milan, although NuuMaK are from Center Italy and the distance form Milan is huge.
Unfortunately the NuuMaK needed this person in a short time and this new member should have been ready to develop his personality together with the band.
Manolo had an idea but the person he thought about in the past had very different point of views regarding music… but sometimes Destiny chooses on our behalf…
May 2007… Alessandro (synths, keyboards and guitar) joined the band at first for the most important gigs but then there has been an immediate concordance and the NuuMaK became five.
Alessandro is Manolo’s old buddy, they have played together in the past and they know each other very well.
Alessandro comes from different musical experiences as a guitarist but then he has started to express his talent even as a singer.
He has become a more complete musician and so he is a perfect member for NuuMaK.
