I don't know....My dad used to play this 63' Gibson guitar in the kitchen before dinner time. It had a very wooden tone, and I distinctly remember how it's sound reflected off the hard surfaces. That sound vibrated my sternum as a little kid, and was the most profound sensation I had experienced up until that time in my life...
Starting around the early nineties, I became a fan of late musician/guitarist Michael Hedges, and once again this vibrated my sternum albeit on another level. I listened to his music alot over the years... particularily so around the time of his passing in 97'. It was through his philosophies on composing, and ways of looking at life, that I felt like trying the guitar in a new light...which is in essence the only thing I mean by nu-wood.
If I've learned anything from playing music, it's that whatever type it is, it carries a life force of it's own..it also is not something that cares about ownership either. No more than a turkey vulture cares about air conditioning! I just try to be there so that if idea comes along, then I'll be able to back it up, or hit the delete button.
