About me:
NVision is a national Native non-profit organization based in Longmont, Colorado that was founded in the summer of 2006. An affiliate project of the Seventh Generation Fund, the mission of NVision is to empower the development of leadership among Native youth and young adults through traditional and contemporary methods of art, media, culture and educational platforms.
NVision is a collective of dynamic Native men and women professionals and artists, ages 25-40, engaged in visual art, graphic and web design, film, photography, music and dance. Other fields of expertise include youth leadership development, Indian education, community organizing and community development. NVision is motivated by a commitment to develop innovative and groundbreaking projects geared towards the well-being and empowerment of Indian Country’s next wave of leaders.
NVison believes that one of the elements of healing and empowerment of youth can be found in part through artistic expression and the development and knowledge and skill sets that can help empower one’s voice and perspectives. Art and multi-media can be a powerful tool for helping to find one’s voice to express to feelings, problems, dreams, hopes and possible solutions. NVision strives to empower youth to engage in traditional and contemporary forms of expression to give a voice to their Native identity, their culture, their perspectives and realities that they face.
