Daulton Anderson born & raised in London, England & migrated to the United States in the mid 1970's. Attended Samuel J Tilden H.S & Bronx Community College, majoring in Televison & Radio Communications. Daulton's passion has always been music. Raised with a classical music background (mummy would'nt let me to listen to Rock & Roll) but I held a hidden passion for black soul music.
I remember listening to Herman Ames & Valerie Steele on a radio station in New Jersey 1430am WNJR, a show called "Gospel at Midnight" sunday midnight into monday morning. I Listened to there professionalism, warmth, understanding & there history of gospel music, they were both inspiring. They were the one stand out reason,that I deceided to give my life to christ,and come out of the clubs as a D J. They had shown that there was love, understanding & peace in christ,and that god love would take of you.
But before all that, I was listening to 1600am WWRL and voices like Gerry Bledso, Vaughn (The Quiet Storm) Harper, Chuck Leonard, G. Keith Alexander, Dr. Bob Lee, "The Chief Rocker" Frankie Crocker, Champaine, Ken (Spider Man) Webb, on WLIB Bob Fredericks, Jeff Barnes, Ken Williams, and other announcers in New York like Harry Harrison, Ron Lundy, Kasey Kasem & in Gospel Shawn Cort, they were par excellance. However I would work in the field of Commercial & Investment Banking, waiting until my dream could be realized,until then working on being a top DJ, in & around the club scene of New York City. That would all change in 1989, when I gave it all up,to accept the call to give my life to Christ.
It would be 1995 that I would be lead to Harlem Radio, WHCR 90.3FM & General Manager Joe Brown, who saw my light and gave me the opportunity, to start a career in Radio broadcasting.
It would last until August 2006,when I received a call from Cynthia Smith, Asst/PD for 107.5 WBLS NYC, that there would be a ground breaking opportunity to format New York's first 24/7 Gospel Radio Station. I was hired as a gospel consultant to set up a full programming format to bring Gospel Music to New York. It was done with help from Vinny Brown Gen'l Mgr & PD, Cynthia Smith Asst/PD Dir of 107.5 WBLS, Anthony Richards,production engineer & many others of Inner City Broadcasting Company.
September 1 2006 1190 WLIB WAS BORN "YOUR PRAISE & INSPIRATION STATION". The inaugual song opening was "High Praise" by Tim Harper, the rest is now history.
NEW GOSPEL SHOW: Daulton Anderson, formerly heard on WHCR (90.3 FM), launches the show, "Sunday Morning Praise", Sundays 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on WLIB (1190 AM), April 1 2007, Anderson has been working with WLIB as an consultant & programmer since it switched to gospel in September 2006.
