Sept 18th-19th 2009: Being held at the Knitting Factory, Brooklyn Fashion Festival is a show which fuses fashion and the arts seamlessly for designers to fully express their visions. We believe that design should have context and an environment in which it is presented. That's why Brooklyn Fashion Festival is a cutting-edge event where fashion is fun, hype-free, and accessible.
Brooklyn Fashion Festival encourages environmental and animal friendly design. Many of our designers use mainly recycled or natural fabrics that are fur-free.

About Tom McAlister: Tom McAlister (aka NYC ART STAR, www.nycartstar.com) is an installation artist residing in NYC. His proposed project is to partner with Out-Of-Home advertisers, Sharpie® brand permanent markers, KRINK® brand permanent markers, and Junobo Paint to install his INTERACTIVE art installation into the 190th Street A-Train Subway Station in Washington Heights, northern Manhattan and then watch the viewers run amok and EXPLODE THEIR CREATIVITY. THE FEELING OF IT HAPPENING.
About the 190th Street A-train Subway Station: Situated in Washington Heights, northern Manhattan, 140 feet underground, the 190th Street A-train Subway Station is your stop to access the beautiful Ft Tryon Park and the Met's Cloisters Museum. With walls which have a curved tunnel bore look, the 190th Street A-train Subway Station still possesses all of its aesthetically captivating Wine Cellar and Roman Aqueduct inspired design as it did when it opened to the public in 1932.

Video documentation of a performance piece by my friend Nate Kassel who rode around on his bike slapping high-fives to people who were trying to hail taxi cabs in NYC. Enjoy!
