-The parade will arrive at The Brick Theater at 6:30 PM.
-The pie fight will then begin at 6:45 PM.

Closing Festival Funeral Precession and Parade:
October 28th at 6:30PM @ Bedford Ave L Subway stop.
All good things must come to an end, and the 3nd Annual NY Clown Theatre Festival is no exception. Theatre Group Dzieci leads the Clown Funeral Procession through the streets of Williamsburg with morbid buffoonery, audience participation and choral singing of 13th Century Latin hymns. As clown mourners follow the casket to its final destination at The Brick Theater, the bereaved are likely to cry out in anguish at unsuspecting passersbys. At the funeral rite following, clown widows and widowers will remember with great passion the achievements of the festival in its 3 short weeks of life. Be sure to stay after the funeral rite for the traditional Closing Night Party. He would have wanted it so. www.dziecitheatre.org

Unable to reintegrate into society, perform sexually, or relate to those around, he is thrust into a world of confusion and chaos.

"how to relinquish control and embrace chaos"........... Body: “Clown is here to remind us of our extreme nature. Clowns are by their nature anarchists. To teach clown is to guide people towards a new experience of themselves, how to relinquish control and embrace chaos.” (Sue Morrison, co-creator of ‘Clown Through Mask’)

Workshop DESCRIPTION:
Clown through Mask with Barnaby King!

This workshop course will lead you toward the discovery and emergence of your own unique clown. We use the concept of 'mask' (the red nose being the smallest of all masks) to build a personal clown mythology, and then learn how to express that through the traditional clown 'turn'.

The clown embodies all that is absurd, chaotic and rich in human existence. This unique approach to clown is inspired by the Native American concept of the clown as trickster and shaman, who through their own willingness to be laughed at, can break tension and bring healing. Clown work offers a powerful and transformational experience to all participants, not just performers, helping us to better understand who we are and how to express that with strength, vulnerability and playfulness.
