JeniViva: Gothic Bellydancer in Gotham

About me:

I AM NYC BASED GOTHIC FUSION BELLYDANCER FOR OVER 8 YEARS... I have a deep love affair with New Orleans, such that I'm there every few months... I have an M.A. in English Literature and my specialities are mid to late 19th Century Americanism and 19th Century Romanticism. I teach Gothic fusion Bellydance Classes in NYC, the first to do so in this wild old town! The classes are based on a Gothic Bellydance technique I created entitled "THE SERPENTINE METHOD"© I am the creator and director of THE MYSTICAL HIPS TRIBE, a version of the old and new genres of Bellydance fused with the darkest of theatrical, musical, and emotional elements. I have lived and loved across the continents... At present, my life is devoted to Gothic Fusion Bellydance, teaching and performing, breaking down centuries of tradition and rebuilding a darker foundation for future fusion Bellydancers. I am in love with a bunch of fabulous old dead folks: John Keats, William Blake, Percey B. Shelley, John Milton, F. Petrarch, Thomas Wyatt, Sir Sidney and Surrey, Poe and Melville, Gaspara Stampa, Veronica Franco, Anais Nin and the muse of my art THEDA BARA. I live for love, dance, sweet red wine, fine arts and the ancient craft. I am a siren, a muse, a Renaissance woman. I am Jen of all trades really...
