Too many to list but I'll start you off with the most groundbreaking in my life: To begin, Melville's Moby Dick........ and also The Confidence Man, Melville's short stories are all worth reading...as are Poe's...not to mention my very first copy of Keat's Eve of St.Agnes....any Keats is a sensual paradise....please go read him now if you haven't already......see also Shelley's Adonais...a tribute to our beloved Keats..... Hawthorne's Twice-Told Tales are very neccesary, so is Anything by Petrarch, Poe, and all the prominent American renaissance writers and English romantic poets, Oh and GOETHE!!!! I just finished The Sorrows of Young Werther by him....grab a kleenex! www.mysticalhips.com I AM NYC BASED GOTHIC FUSION BELLYDANCER FOR OVER 8 YEARS... I have a deep love affair with New Orleans, such that I'm there every few months... I have an M.A. in English Literature and my specialities are mid to late 19th Century Americanism and 19th Century Romanticism. I teach Gothic fusion Bellydance Classes in NYC, the first to do so in this wild old town!     The Symptoms Of Inner Peace by Saskia Davis


    Be on the lookout for symptoms of Inner Peace. The hearts of a great many have already been exposed to Inner Peace, and it is possible that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic proportions. This could pose a serious threat to what has, up to now, been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.


    Some signs and symptoms of inner peace:


    A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based  on past experiences.
    An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
    A loss of interest in judging other people.
    A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
    A loss of interest in conflict.
    A loss of the ability to worry (this is a very serious symptom).
    Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
    Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.
    An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen.
    An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others, as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it.

    How many times do we say something that we immediately realized was not the right thing to say?
    How many times do we look back on an event and think, if only I had....
    How many times do we do something that we wish hadn't done?


    You can't change what has been said.
    You can't change a past event.
    You can't change what has been done. 



    Do you call it regret, sorrow, repentance?
    Do you think about what might have been?
    Do you relive an event the way it should have been?


    Forget about regret, and focus.
    Focus on today, not on the past.
    Focus on what you can do, not what you didn't do.



    The only thing to regret is living in the past
    The only thing to feel sorrow for is not living each day to the fullest.
    The only thing to do to repent is to sincerely say, I'm sorry.


    Don't live your life regretting yesterday.
    Live your life so tomorrow you won't regret today.
