Press Release January 2009
In 2008 N.Y.C. took the world by storm with the release of their slammin’ new album Zyko. In October, it premiered at 38 with a bullet and was the 3rd most added CD on the FMQB charts. Currently Munsey Ricci of Skateboard Marketing is onboard handling the ongoing radio campaign. Zyko has already closed 110 commercial and college metal shows, which includes heavy rotation with some stations pulling top 5 phones. The album was also added to rotation at 40+ stations nationwide and went to NUMBER 1 on KRWN (Farmington, NM).
Zyko has also just been honored as Album of the Year by the syndicated radio show ‘Rock Solid Pressure’ hosted by J-Rock and Patty.
More hype: N.Y.C. will also be featured/profiled in the upcoming (April) issue of Revolver magazine.
Numerous magazines ads are already out in full support with current ad campaigns from Guitar Wheel, Farley’s Essentials, Cordlox and Morley (who also featured Tommy as artist of the month in April 08). Upcoming ads from Cort Guitars, Tone Pros, BBE, GHS and TKL are on the way as well to help push Zyko over the top.
Tommy also appeared in the Aug. issue of Guitar World performing on the included CD-rom demoing and explaining the
awesome Guitar Wheel.
In between the ongoing ad campaign, Tommy also performed at the LA Amp Show playing on the Digitech Digi-truck stage and also did a clinic at Guitar Center (LA) for IK Multimedia. Future clinics are in the works as well.
This past March also saw Tommy on the road with the band Ministry when he was personally asked by Angie Jourgensen (manager of Ministry) to fly out and go on the road for two weeks as a backup due to health concerns within the band. A big shout out of thanks to the entire Ministry band and crew for being so great!
2008 also saw the addition of 12 NEW FULL ENDORSERS. Welcome to the NYC race team!!!
Cort Guitars, Bugera Amps, TKL Cases, Starr Labs, N-Tune,
Mighty Mite, IK Multimedia, Axis Percussion, Drum Dial, Power Wrist Builders, Shred Neck and Mighty Bright.
Also, a shout out of thanks to Affliction Clothing for the hook up.
So look for the N.Y.C. machine on tour this spring kicking ass, tearing it up and blasting the message of Zyko to the masses!!!!
Blasting like a 10 ton Nuclear Weapon, N.Y.C. is Loud, Aggressive, and Very Pissed Off. No whining.....Just Fed Up and Disgusted at how good everyone else has it while waiting under a "Self-Stitched Smooth Blanket of Hate"....Waiting to turn Negative Energy into Positive Results....Waiting to Rise from the Gutter of contempt.
"We wanted to write songs that were real to us, that could vent our aggression while at the same time exercise our demons of insanity....." states Tommy, N.Y.C. Vocalist/Guitarist. "I'm the guy on the New York street corner screamin' about everything and you'll FEEL that intensity in our live show."
Chaz states "Tommy and I started this band because we are both aggressive people and what better way to let it out than onstage. I'm able to function normally day to day because I get to beat the piss out of my drums, which I need to do!" Also featuring Joe D'Ambra on Bass, N.Y.C. slams with aggressive grooves and fierce vocals that cut to the nerve.
"Tommy is an INSANE guitarist... N.Y.C. is a band that MUST be seen live!"
Ben Cole (GHS Strings)
"...delivers a backhanded punch that'll leave you reeling...a straight up set of ear f*ck"
Jedd Beaudoin,F5 Magazine(Wichita,KS)
"This Band is a MUST SEE...You can't believe it when you see them and you don't forget them...N.Y.C. is The Purpose...N.Y.C. is The Future"
