This site is meant to promote hardcore in a strictly DIY way. THE MAIN EMPHASIS IS A COMPLETE SHOW LISTING FOR NYC AND UP TO AN HOUR BEYOND, WHICH YOU CAN SEE ON THE CALENDER RIGHT ABOVE MY "TOP FRIENDS". I ALSO ENCOURAGE NON-NYC BANDS TO USE THE PROMOTER LINKS TO THE LEFT TO GET ON SHOWS. I WILL PROMOTE ANY PROMOTER. The goal is to promote EVERY SHOW, (NO MATTER HOW SMALL) WITHIN AN HOUR FROM NYC. We can keep the scene alive and the bands alive by maximizing "our family's" knowledge of EVERY show. The scene in NYC survives only on the old bands that consistently come back for reunion shows and the dedicated few "who feel it in their heart" and live their life hardcore. This site will promote ALL hardcore bands so long as they are strictly hardcore. HARDCORE IS PUNK so punk bands are welcome on my site. For punk show information however you can hit this link: NYC PUNK. I will try and emphasize the smaller bands so that they can grow and become bigger along with the old "biggies" that inevitably return when the scene is more active. NO METAL/EMO/SCREAMO BULLSHIT IS WELCOME!!!! Any person who wants to join this friendlist will be fuckin screened. So if i see bands like Converge, Mastodon, Emmure, and Trivium or any current Victory Records band other than All Out War up in your shit, don't be surprised if i reject you. This is for strictly hardcore (punk) brothers only. This does not mean that you have to listen to ONLY HARDCORE to be hardcore. It is simply a matter of people who DON'T listen to hardcore, but THINK they do. The corporations have tainted the name of hardcore and there are way to many of our youth who listen to metal or emo crap that CLAIMS to be hardcore. Send me show info and i'll post it if it's within an hour from NYC (I'm expecting this from bands AND people who are aware of a show that is missing from my list). Of course this does not include major shows or reunions which sometimes are a little further away and will also be promoted. I urge everyone to spread the word about my site to other bands and other people on myspace with bulletins. As the site gets more "hits" and "friends" bands will take it more seriously and we can have a more complete show listing.
I'm also particularly interested in promoting YOUTH CREW and OLD SKOOL sXe STYLE hardcore which seems non-existant at the moment. Bands such as Wide Awake, Straight Ahead, Shutdown, Bold, YOT, Ten Yard Fight, Judge, Side By Side and especially Warzone should not be forgotten.
I ENCOURAGE ANY PUNKS TO COME TO HARDCORE SHOWS/ THERE APPEARS TO BE AN IMPRESSION AMONG SOME PUNKS THAT THEY ARE NOT "WANTED IN" OR "DON'T BELONG" IN OUR SCENE. THIS IS THE FURTHEST THING FROM THE TRUTH. WE NEED YOU TO KEEP OUR SCENE STRONG AND PUNK. THE METAL "INFESTATION" HAS GONE WAY OVERBOARD OF LATE IN AN OVERZEALOUS EXPLOITATION OF "THE BREAKDOWN" AND "THE GROOVE" AS OPPOSED TO SPEED AND CUT TIME. I ALONG WITH MANY WISH WE COULD SEE MORE MOWHAWKS AT OUR SHOWS. KNOW THAT YOU ARE WELCOME AND THAT YOU BELONG AT OUR SHOWS """MORE THAN''' MANY OF THE PEOPLE THAT I SEE THERE NOW.
