Joey D's Jerky ... it all started with a small dehydrator and a competition with a co-worker...
In 1999 a co-worker of mine introduced me to the art of making jerky. I received my first five-tray dehydrator as a gift from two great friends of mine and soon I was experimenting with various spice combinations. I think my friends just wanted me to make jerky for them, but instead I began making jerky for trips, family outings and to bring in for snacks at work. My friends and family were the guinea pigs for the concoctions I created. Before long, I began receiving requests for different styles and taste. This eventually evolved into the four flavors we offer today; Teriyaki, Hot, Tangy and Original.
In 2001, a friend bought some jerky off the Internet; it was the worst he had ever tasted. So, I gave him some of my jerky and promised him it would be the BEST he ever had. He became my first paying customer, and Joey D's Jerky was born.
Today, Joey D's Jerky can be purchased online, and in specialty stores around Florida. You can also look for us at various local events.
