Mrs. Bonnie Meyers, aka Nykki Bangs, was born and raised in Houston, TX and had a very normal childhood. Too normal in fact. She took piano lessons, dance and drill team practice, sang in her school choir, played volleyball with her High School team, and even raised farm animals for her High School AG program. She had the popular friends from all cliques, and was a sort of chameleon when it came to getting along with different crowds. But there was one crowd she had yet to know of, and didn't even know existed. After attending her first underground electronic music event in 2002, she was inspired. She met a few colorful individuals on New Years Eve, and they soon asked for her assistance in gogo dancing at an upcoming 2003 Valentines Day Event. Being athletic, and a precision style dancer almost her entire life, she sought out to have a good time, and meet new friends. Nykki had many compliments that night which only encouraged her to keep dancing and become more creative, and expressive through the art of dance.
That night Nykki met a DJ named Karl, aka DJ KidD KlasZ. Also interested in learning to DJ, Nykki was drawn to Karls enthusiasm, energy, and many talents. Over the course of two years they became great friends, practiced mixing together, shared similar interests, goals, and had much in common. They pushed one another to become better at everything they did in life, and were positive forces in each others lives.
By January 2004 Karl and Nykki committed to buying the right's and the license to do business as UNLIT PRODUCTIONS. And so on October 31st, 2005, they married!! Soon Karl and Nykki found that they would be playing an even larger, more challenging role as parents. Even with tough times, and the struggles of the family life they never gave up on their first love.... their love for music. As the family grew so did UnliT Productions,... the music scene, and their professional music careers.
UnliT Productions now an organized well-managed Production Company began to grow and flourish by late 2006. With Karl and Nykki's combined skills in event promotions, his knowledge of music and event production, and her knowledge of combining a "shock art" fashion with the performing arts, their possibilities became endless.
Unlit Productions is now a full entertainment company, offering such services as DJ's, go-go dancers, break dancers, performance artists, and models. Not limiting their talents to just entertainment, Unlit also offers event coordination, electronics repair ,refurbishment, and/or customization audio/stage equipment. In only five years, Unlit Productions has grown into more than Nykki and Karl could have ever imagined.
During those five years Nykki has been studying the Musical arts, and continues forward on her path of DJ'ing, entertaining crowd goers abroad. Her Production genre varies, but all seem to fall under the "Dark Techno" / "Industrial Dance" categories. She specializes in remixing popular tracks to her own tastes, and how the music should be heard from a dancer point of view. Nykki isn't limited to just vinyl dj'ing. She also uses MP3's and/or CDs when the appropriate equipment is available. Most of her DJ sets consist of dance music of late 90's, classic Tech-House, popular rave anthems, breakbeats, and sub genres of house. With Kidd Klasz as her mentor it isn't hard to ignore their similar styles of mixing. Like Klasz, she aims to never let a record spin for more than a few minutes, just as long as the harmonious message has been implied.
Nykki is also currently reinventing her gogo dance team, The Digi Dollz. As one of Texas's first professional UV GoGo dance crews, Nykki feels it is time to raise the bar and set the gogo and performing arts higher. On expansion The Digi Dollz will be featuring undiscovered, "unliT" stars performing choreographed dance, and shocking theatrics on stage. Nykki has also embarked on the clubwear industry reinventing old ideas, with new custom designs. This new style of clubwear, which is currently under-wraps, will be worn exclusively by the Digi Doll dancers and models. This extraordinary clubwear could possibly alter ones way of life, inspire a new generation, and will most definitely benefit the Electronic Dance Music Culture. The Digi Dollz v2.0 will officially be launched for bookings in 2010.
Aside from all her ongoing projects of her artistic lifestyle, Nykki somehow finds the time to tend to everyday life as a wife, and mother of three boys. Nykki's boys (now ages 8, 3, and 2) keep her very busy and yet somehow they inspire her to become better at everything she does. She tries to still good moral values not only within her family, but with friends as well. No matter what the issue may be, Nykki listens to others respectfully, and will always give her honest advice when it is necessary. Nykki will always be a mother at heart, and it's the mother inside that makes her the distinguished artist she is today.
