In October of 2007 Chase Harrell (lead guitarist) set out to create his solo project Obsolete Omega. However a few hours into the project Andy Lautzenheiser (lead vocalsbass) joined and days later John Friermood (drums) would round out the trio. Combining their common musical tastes and personal styles into a mix unlike any other before, it soon became apparent that Obsolete Omega was a special thing.
The months following showed great progress in the creation process, and after the guys felt they had a good list of songs they set out to find some shows. An EP followed titled "Winter's End" which was finished and available on April 5th 2008. The Spring and Summer of '08 were good for shows but the trio soon agreed their live sound needed to fill out and they missed their friend, and former bandmate from a previous band, Sean Galyk (live guitars). In July of 2008 Sean would join the group as a live guitarist and in that capacity only as he preferred to be a helping band member but didn't want to add or detract from the creation of songs; also, Sean was busy with his own solo project Toy Drug.
In August the guys decided to take most of the Fall off to work on recording their CD "Crashing". However the process was slow going and they later decided to keep up the shows and to work on the CD at the same time. Several shows and recording time later Obsolete Omega released their second EP titled "Definitions" on Jan. 17th 2009. Continuing to define their sound and style as well as creating a memorable live performance, Obsolete Omega is very optimistic and excited about what the future holds.
