We have many many different influences spreading a great variety of styles and years. But thought we would use this area to thank those who have and are helping us.
This is all in Date order (Not importance) Which gives an idea of how things have developed we owe every one a great deal but are mentioning those below who have given more help than any one. So a BIG thanks.
NEUTRON TEARS : For helping us get some decent vocal recordings and letting us learn from you.
DJ Cruel Brit@nnia : For helping us make our sound better again we have learned alot from you too.
Ravenheart Records : For helping us trying to get on to record labels etc.
Roland : For being brave enough to be the 1st to sponsor us there is no way we could get the live sounds we need with an accustic drum kit.
Boss : As part of Roland also being the 1st to sponsor us again, without your effects processors and samplers we couldn't play our stuff in the same way live.
OAK, an English industrial-metal outfit, based in the West Midlands town of Kidderminster were first formed in 2001 as a dark metal band. In 2004 OAK made their Industrial debut to their veteran fans, sporting a sound akin to American industrial bands such as Celldweller and Stabbing Westward, and have been frequently compared to Nine Inch Nails with vocal styles holding similarities to Linkin Park. Since their debut OAK have been perfecting their sound as well as writing and recording furiously in order to release the best of their potential in the form of their new industrial album “The Human Glitch” which was finished after over four years of hard work and determination.
Despite bearing some similarities to other bands in similar genres, OAK have been broadly described as Industrial Nu-Metal, whilst carrying some melodic undertones of Electronica, and therefore appeal to a wider audience, as they have witnessed during some impressive live gigs. They have lured not only avid metal and Goth fans, but also people who enjoy hybrid styles of music and even fans of dance and drum and bass, attracting an even wider range of listeners.
They are currently a four-piece band consisting of in alphabetical order:
Cardinal- Guitar, Synth, Programming
Drew- Drums, FX, Samples, Programming
Kleon- Vocals, Programming
Neo- Bass, Programming
Their music is produced by the band themselves and they have worked with Goth/Industrial DJ Cruel Brit@nnia. OAK have also achieved sponsorship from Roland and Boss due to the extensive use of their equipment.
They have a professional video for their first single “Torn”, directed by ex BBC film maker Matt Cussworth.
OAK have played live at a wide variety of venues and at number of festivals including the “666 Festival” at the Barfly, the “Disobey Rock Fest 04”, headlined “Nick Stock 05”, headlined “Hard Drive Festival 08” in Leicester and the “Legion Goth Festival 09” at Eddies No.8 in Birmingham. They have also had various tracks played numerous times on internet and terrestrial radio stations in UK, USA and Australia with stations such as Kerrang!
OAK are now seeking representation for their self-financed and unreleased 11-track debut album “The Human Glitch” which features a wide spectrum of industrial metal tracks described by many as epic-sounding and emotionally powerful. They have had interest from UK and US based labels but are still looking for the perfect team with which to start the industrial revolution.
£leTriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check £leTriKa out!
