Oasis started in 2007 with a group of individuals seeking a community that would accomplish three things: .................................................................................................... First, it was evident there was a desire for a safe place to experience and express authentic spirituality in a community setting. Incorporated with this was the desire to use artistic expression in faith and to reach those who are seeking. They realized that people from all walks of life need a sacred space for Spiritual Discovery ........................................................................ Second, establish a network that would be highly visible and accessible to other young adults from area churches and to those newly arrived in the area. Chicago-land is comprised of over 50 churches and about 80% of the Illinois conference membership but very few churches reaching out to young adults or young professionals. Oasis would complement the work of the local church for their young adults and give those disconnected a way to connect with the local church as well ....................................................................................... Third, proactively engage in volunteerism. The core team of Oasis see the need for social change and value the opportunities to make a difference in their local communities. Micah 6:8 has been a theme: “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” ............................................................................................ The Oasis Leadership team is comprised of two sponsor pastors and about six leaders. After spending time together as a team they felt led to start small group Bible studies in central locations throughout Chicago-land. In their weekly small groups gatherings they average about 25 young adults. There is also a monthly gathering where the small groups come together to either worship, volunteer, socialize, or all of the above. During these events they can have anywhere between 40-200+ involved in the activity. Oasis events attract people from all ages, ethnicities, and religions (including non-religious).

    Hello Pr.
    José,

I really appreciate your prayers. You have no idea how perfectly timed they were. Several major/important things are happening, which will require the Lord's guidance, wisdom, and blessing. These involve RDCD Limited, TIJ Ministries, Illinois FeSJA presidency, and other projects.

Take care my friend and may the Lord continue to bless you, your family and ministry always.
