Oberon’s history dates back to 1996 when the band first formed and played mixture a death/thrash metal. During our first era we released an EP called ENDLESS LIFE and played shows with bands like sHEAVY, After Forever, and Draize Eye Test. After some personal changes we re-emerged with a more melodic power/thrash approach but still with a lot of speed and aggression. During this period we released our second EP entitled THE DARK WARRIOR and played shows with local bands such as Fireign, Asphyxiation, Embers Fade, Weapon, Devastator. Our last recording was the song “One Nation” which you can listen to on our MySpace page. This was released on a local compilation entitled Through blind eyes.
Due to a number of reasons the band called it quits in 2004. Now in 2009, the band’s 3 founding members have reunited. So begins the band’s third era. We are currently writing new material and getting back on track. Plus we have enlisted a new Bass player Corey Way who formerly played in Oberon in 1999 and Dale Drew on vocals. The style is heavy metal, with our power, traditional, and thrash metal influences still shining through. We are now in the middle of recording our full length Cd which should be completed by 2010. Stay tuned…
Some of you have asked about getting a copy of our past
recordings. What we've decided to do is upload them for you to download for
free. You can download a zip file containing our old recordings from ENDLESS
LIFE, THE DARK WARRIOR, and a couple of older bonus songs

My new instructional album - "Peter Holmgren's licks and scales lesson" is now available on iTunes.
Check it out below!
The lesson is for all guitar players, beginners and professionals. In the instruction I play more than 20 different licks at fast and slow speeds and explain how to play them and what you learn by playing them. If you buy all 11 parts in the lesson you will get them for the price of 10!
In fall I will have an album with three brand new instrumental songs on iTunes.
