InfluencesSounds of everyday life, basically. Not from the chatter on the bus or the sounds from crowded streets, but rather the sounds of the "silent" places scattered around. Abandoned places, empty places, the slums, the spaces left out in architectural blueprints (sometimes inhabitated by homeless). Occasionally one can hear the sounds from the crowded streets, or maybe music from somewhere in the far distance, but it sounds quite different. Mixed with faint winds, some other small noises like paper rustling, a door creaking, and other barely audible sounds. These are the kind of sounds that inspire Objekt4. The "ghost sounds of everyday life".
Sounds LikeSPACES OF UNCERTAINTY. SUBFREQUENCIES AND SURFACE NOISE. EVERNEVERSILENCE. OSCILLATING OTHERWORLDS. HYPNOROOMS. IN BETWEEN DIMENSIONS. CALM TENSION.

ABOUT THE NAME OBJEKT4
*Objekt4 should be read as one word, read 4 in roman numbers and you get Objektiv, objective in swedish. Objekt4 is all about an open mind, not bound to any sound, style or approach, putting SOUND in as complete focus as possible.*
BIOGRAPHY
"Started off as a digital synthesis programmer and acoustic designer in early student years, before moving on to sound design and film music. The introduction to korean and japanese horror movies spawned a keen interest in expanding sound design into music by creating various hybrids between field recordings and ambiences / sounds of everyday life with musical instruments and musical approaches, creating musical ambience rather than ambient music. Started recording music as "Objekt4" in 2003. After releasing two horror soundtrack-styled albums in 2003-2004 the approach was altered and changed into other sounds and styles such as "Her face among the shadows" (2004-2005), a journey into hallucinogenic experimental dub and trip-hop inspired industrial ambient soundscapes, and "Space jungle slums" (2006-2007), an experimental chillout downtempo album with a spacy jungle vibe." After 4 years existence Objekt4 was laid to rest in 2007.

SELECTED DISCOGRAPHY
(Complete discography further down, and in more detail available at; www.discogs.com/artist/Objekt4)

WOLFSKIN Feat. OBJEKT4 - "The hidden fortress: A revisitation" (Neuropa Records (2008)
Photobucket
"The first four tracks are the recordings done by Wolfskin. The cold aural winds that are heard were recorded back in the days of the first release. Impressive and mood-altering haunted sounds that were appearing in darkness, behind white curtains and under the bed of Wolfskin fans for a long time. Slow, almost gentle, but ultimately cold arms to put your body to sleep. It is track number five, "Entrance" that brings Objekt4 to the grim picture, with the old materials in his hands and of course, his own set of sounds, The next six tracks are the picture being taken, decomposed and recomposed into another picture. No wait. Maybe EXPANDED would be a more suitable description. Taking the original material by Wolfskin and giving it another dimension, another perspective, a bigger picture like the one I saw when I was a kid. Objekt4's sounds reveal what's hidden deep beneath the hidden fortress, with mesmerizing details and bleak colors. The cinematic properties of this entire album are evident. Wolfskin manages to pinch the right nerves when it comes to suspense and mystery, while Objekt4 paints this grim picture with intense colors and shades. At times, you might feel like in an elevator, being taken down deeper and deeper, until you reach the deepest layer, the last step, the last track – "The hidden fortress". Wolfskin makes a promise, Objekt4 keeps it, and this morbid journey ends with a lone, almost intimate long wail, greeting the listener as a hollow welcome song back to the wolfskin's birth place, which was abandoned for so long." (Heathen Harvest)
"Space Jungle Slums" CD
(2006-2007) Ajana Records

"Rhythmic ambient structures and spacey beatless zones. Objekt4 gives the listener the impression of passing through a futuristic urban twilight where different aural states arise from each consecutive area. Mechanical beats and seemingly incidental rhythms flow from one into another - sometimes abruptly as if the listener had stepped without warning into a new sector, sometimes smoothly, fluid, gradual like a natural digression. Zones free of percussion hang in the spaces, often pregnant with expectation, anticipating the next variation. Beats range from booming post industrial lattices and muffled engineering that could almost be found sound to grooves that are just at the edge of chilled downtempo programming. The electronica maintains a similar ghostly quality suggestive of environmental sound, very modern, almost freeform synthetic meanderings that tend to be laid out in repeating arrangements and cycles that roll one into another. Tracks frequently cross refer so that a sound can be picked up in more than one piece tying the album into a unified whole." (Morpheus Music)
Much of Objekt4's "Space Jungle Slums" is strikingly odd, and not just its title. The recording's split into two four-song suites—Nexus Sector A/D and Jungle Vibes—and the music itself locates itself within a midway zone betwixt ambient and industrial, a zone that's neither overly becalmed or excessively disturbed. The album's ghostly ambient sections unfurl in a hazy orchestral style that calls to mind Tangerine Dream circa Phaedra while the industrial sections emphasize tribal percussive patterns and textures. (Textura)

This cd contains mindblowing artwork by german artist Jann Kerntke and Nad Wolinska from Lafayette, California, USA, and photography by Marta I. Moreno from Valencia, Spain.

"Shades of night" CD
Sabbathid Rec. / Regimental Rec. / Basilisk Prod. / Bugs crawling out of people
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

"Skillfully composed using essentially processed field recordings and the odd instrumental element (a guitar chord here, a bell there), "Shades Of Night" comes across as the dark side of a meditation tape or, perhaps, even as an aural opiate. Despite needing the listener's attention, "Shades Of Night" is not by any means hard to get into. Appreciators of cold atmospheric electronics will be right at home with this release as will be anyone with an active imagination who will just sit back, relax and let himself be carried away by the ambiances contained within." 8.5/10 (Connexion Bizarre)

"Her face among the shadows" CD / Ltd. Ed. CD + DTS 5.1 Surround Sound CD-R
(2004-2006) Ravenheart Productions

"Mindnumbing electronica with subtle beats that drill a hole deep into your core and shake you from the inside out." (Smother Mag.)
"This CD is rich in a variety of sounds of textures, leaving room for unpredictability and compositional excursions. As if an unknown quantity of some neo-tech hallucinogen has taken hold, the listener is forced the grapple with the shape-shifting forms emerging from the shadows and the light, with little referential aid". 9/10 (Virus! Magazine)
"There’s an eerie undertone to much of the cryptic rhythmical soundscapes on this latest offering from Swedish musician Objekt4. Reinforced by the scraping metal shanks that litter the later phrases of ‘Seclusion’, the intensity with which he builds this series of mechanised looping beasts into an uneasy pulse is quite engaging. Objekt4’s obtuse rhythms that seem to deconstruct themselves with an almost reckless disregard, convey a sense of impending doom – something echoed in the bleak landscapes that litter the artwork. Like being lost in some dark Nordic forest in the dead of the night, the smallest sounds from wind in the trees to the distant pulse of some lost drum pattern begin to take on sinister forms. ‘Her Face’, which commences with an almighty thump decays quickly into a murky subspace of deep drone and mid-range gusts of tone. These gusts bring with them a smell of gritty earth and it’s this overwhelmingly organic quality (made all the more real by some excellent use of reverb to add spatial depth) to draws you deep into this unfamiliar and somewhat unwelcoming realm." (Cyclic Defrost)
"Opening piece "Seclusion" brings a muted trip-hop sensibility to industrial ambience, with a bass-heavy throb of a breakbeat holding down the soft pads and occasional metallic scrapes, while "Her Face" is a more experimental take on down-tempo electro, blurring the rhythms together like a slow-motion train crash. "Void of Wounds" takes things in a more minimalist direction with subtle pulsing interrupted by occasional funky interludes of kick, snare, and hi-hat." (Livid Looking Glass)
"Sometimes the sounds are so subtle and hidden that full attention is required to follow them. Beats, thumping and an interior throbbing create an invisible line that each composition follows. There is so much dark ambient that chooses to use only haunting, angular and violent noises, Objekt4 is a refreshingly complicated and bipolar project." (Heathen Harvest)
"Much like Anders Peterson’s previous works, Her Face Among the Shadows is firmly rooted in the ominous neck of the ambient woods. Eight tracks of moody, often ethereal soundscapes that’d sound just as comfy pouring forth from a massive, looming iron-smelting plant as it would in the hull of an abandoned, corroding, aimlessly floating space barge." (Metalreview.com)
"...Objekt4's dark ambience further texturizes the shades of grey that exist between the terror of complete darkness and the new age ephemera of daylight..." (Igloo Magazine)

"The end; the beginning: Restricted Areas Vol. 1-2" 2xCDr + DTS 5.1-CDr + T-Shirt
Ravenheart (2002-2004 / 2006)
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The last ever Objekt4 release is a reissue of the first album "Facility 77" from 2003, with 18 bonus tracks, spanning over two discs and 154 minutes playing time. ALL tracks were remastered, and some re-edited in 2006. There is also a DTS 5.1 surround sound disc with selected tracks. Originally both discs were supposed to be released also in 5.1 format but I lost many files over the years, and some were damaged beyond repair. Well, still this disc has over 70 minutes of material in full 5.1 sound (16 bit / 44.1 kHz). A t-shirt is also included in this edition. It..s a very small edition of only 50 copies. The emphasis on “ghost sounds” sets this apart from other ambient/dark ambient releases because the sheer gravity of the atmosphere sucks you in and Eno’s definition of ambient as music that is “as ignorable as it is interesting” is quickly broken – you can’t ignore these pieces, they haunt you. The album still earns high marks, though, because it is interesting. I will say that 2005’s "Otherside Scenery", tracks 8 – 15 on disc one, are the scariest on tap, and shouldn’t be played alone in dark rooms at night. (Metalreview.com)

"Dead world ambience analysis" CD / Ltd. CD + DTS 5.1 CD-R
(incl. 3 bonus tracks)
(2003-2005) Divinus Solitudo Productions
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

"The four tracks of the “World Of Ruin” 3"CD-R have been extended with another four tracks (one of which we already know in a Roof Mix version: 'A Sky Of Bloodstained Steel'). I was a bit skeptical when I read that the songs of “World Of Ruin” were rearranged and put on an album CD with other pieces. But I'm very glad to conclude that Objekt4 has been able to maintain and even expand the mood of “World Of Ruin” with his new “Dead World Ambience Analysis”. And that's a real treat, because the more of this music the better. The new songs are very convincing expansions of the four “World Of Ruin” tracks and even strengthen the mood. 'Winter Robed In Sombre Unlight', the initial ending tune of the 3” cd-r is followed by 'Morning Dew On Sunless Shores' and with it, Anders shows he knows his way in the ambient world: the song that was a very convincing ending, knows another extension and even better ending of an ambient trip. Objekt4 continues his strong work: this is ambient like it is supposed to be. All that remains is a delightful and dreamy album. 9/10 (Gothtronic)

"Extermination processing tower" CD
(2004-2005) Ravenheart Productions
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

"Objekt4’s Extermination Processing Tower would serve as a perfect soundtrack to the kind of atmospheric horror film that actually scares you, which means no cheap thrills. Doors creak and the suspense lingers long enough to hear salty sweat hit concrete. It’s hard to believe that something substantial and fairly rhythmic could from a project so stubbornly unclassifiable. The beat pulsates and changes so quickly that you actually feel like you’re in a vortex with a life of its own. Your best bet in enjoying this release is to lie down completely and let the atmosphere overtake you. Gusts of wind, dripping rainfall, and other effects play an integral role in creating an environment that lends itself to an authentic sense of horror. Objekt4’s ability to develop entire tracks that build on separate narratives is impressive. For an atmospheric collection of terrifying sound, it functions as an example of excellence. If I had the money to fund one of my own horror scripts, I wouldn’t hesitate to call on Objekt4 for the score." (Metalreview.com)
"There are nine extremly dark soundtrack/scapes here. This is very deep stuff. Objekt 4 gets a big sound. The artist's penchant for designing and combining sounds is impressive." (Aural Pressure)
"The music is very well done, exciting, full of tension, clean and really gets you by the throat. The artwork is scary, the title choices spherical (‘From The Disfigured Void’, ‘From Beyond The Disfigured Void’, ‘A Sky Of Bloodstained Steel’)". (Gothtronic)
