1996年結成。
1997年　1stシングル「SUCKER」でメジャーデビュー。
全米ツアー・国内ツアーを精力的に行い、海外アーティストの来日時のサポートアクトも多々務め、国内外にその名を広める。
2001年にいったん解散するも、2007年再結成を果たす。
2008年7年ぶりのアルバム「OBLIVION DUST」をリリース。メンバーのソロワークが活発化し、活動を一時休止するも2010年11月に活動再開を宣言。
2011年2月にSHIBUYA AX 2daysにて「ASHES TO DUST 2011」を行う。
同年3月にオフィシャルファンクラブ「Club OVERDOSE」を発足
同年5月には代官山UNITにてFC限定ライブ、6月～7月にかけて「Re-creation tour 2011」、 11月に2011年2度目となるツアー「Roller Coastet Tour 2011」を開催するなど精力的に活動。
12月には3年振りとなる待望のシングル「TUNE」を配信限定でリリース。
2012年4月11日に待望の6th New Album「9 Gates For Bipolar」をUNIVERSAL MUSICよりリリース決定！
Albumリリースに伴い、4月14日の福岡を皮切りに「Static Sound Tour 2012」と銘打った全国7都市12公演のツアーを行う。
2012年8月 これまでのオリジナルアルバム計6枚の中から各3曲ずつ披露するというコンセプチュアルなライブ「6IX」をshibuya duoにて開催

Formed in 1996, OBLIVION DUST made a major debut in 1997 with the first single "SUCKER".
After countless domestic tours and U.S. club shows as well as support acts for international acts to introduce itself both in Japan and overseas.
After splitting up in 2001, OBLIVION DUST reunited in 2007.
In 2008, the album "OBLIVION DUST" was released for the first time in 7 years.
After another break, in which band members took time to work on each of their individual projects, the band announced the resumption of its musical activities in November of 2010.
The performed two live shows called "ASHES TO DUST 2011" at SHIBUYA AX in February 2011.
The official fan club named "Club OVERDOSE" was started in March of the same year.
The band maintained energetic activities in 2011, held a fan club member-only event at UNIT (Daikanyama, Tokyo) in May, went on the tour called "Re-creation Tour 2011" in June and July and another tour called "Roller Coaster Tour 2011" in November of the same year.
The long-awaited Internet-only single "TUNE" was released in December for the first time in 3 years.
From April 2012, OBLIVION DUST will go on a Japan tour titled "Static Sound Tour 2012" and will perform 12 shows in 7 cities.
