O.Boogie got involved in music around 1999 when he bought his first turntables, inspired by Dutch hip hop veterans like Edzon and Mr. Wix. He started spinning mostly hip hop, but after meeting fellow dj's like Rednose Distrikt, he got in touch with different genres like soul, afro, brokenbeat, (detroit) house and jazz.
He promoted the legendary "Sweet Intermission" parties with musical likeminds Pete Philly & Perquiste, combining live jazz music (by the New Cool Collective musicians) with hip hop. Mixing different styles of music remained an important ingredient in the "Drie Keer Raden" parties, inviting a wide range of live acts like Benny Sings, U-Gene, Nobodybeatsthedrum and others.
Influenced by beatmakers like Jay Dee, Madlib, Dj Premier, Spinna, Rednose Distrikt, Theo Parrish and Moodymann, O.Boogie bought an MPC and started making beats. In 2003 he teamed up with dj Cinnaman and they released their first split 12" on their own "Drie Keer Raden" label. CDR's full of beats followed, getting airplay by heads like Benji B (BBC), Domu and Pablo Valentino. O.Boogie has tons of stuff on the shelf ready to hit the streets this year, recording tracks with numerous vocalists like U-Gene, Adi Dick and Tableek (Maspyke). First up is release on So What label and an EP on Faces Records.
In November of 2005, Boogie flew to Seattle to take part in the Redbull Music Academy, where he met friends for life and got inspired by lectures by people like Danny Krivit, Hank Shocklee and so on.
Nowadays O.Boogie keeps himself busy dj'ing around the country. Playing alongside dj's and acts like Kid Sublime, Tony Nwatchuku (Attica Blues), Tom Trago, J*Davey and Steve Spacek at major venues like Paradiso (Amsterdam), Off_Corso (Rotterdam) as well as abroad (NY, Seattle, Barcelona, Brussels etc.).
