OBSIDIAN is a 5 piece Industrial Influenced Metal band from Raleigh North Carolina. OBSIDIAN is known across North Carolina and surrounding regions for their highly-energetic, epically theatric stage shows. With every show, they always seem to leave the crowd breathless and screaming for more. With all members coming from different musical background and experience, the music that is composed naturally comes together in an aural masterpiece of mixed genres.
OBSIDIAN has been around North Carolina for collectively 3 years. They have played at many venues and in many cities across North Carolina and the central east coast region. They've opened for numerous national acts including major industrial act BILE, Devil Driver, Glass Casket, Wednesday 13, Deadstar Assembly They've shared the stage with many regional bands including Sister Kill Cycle, Still Life Decay, Bloodjinn, Lunatic Candy Kreep, Straight Line Stitch, Alesana, Kung-fu Dykes, My Hero Is Me, Scapegoat, A Vision Grotesque, and Reality Entertainment Recording Artists Slavemachine
March 18th 2006 sparked the release of OBSIDIAN's debut independent full-length release entitled "Cellar Door". That release has paved the way for their name across North Carolina and surrounding regions. In the mean time, they're writing new material for their next release, and building their name across the regional circuit. June 6, 2006 marked the release of SERIES DVD Volume 4 which featured a live video of OBSIDIAN along side an incredible line-up of Nationals and Regionals including In Flames, Exodus, He Is Legend, Between The Burried and Me, The Acacia Strain, Killwhitneydead, Sworn Enemy, and Glass Casket. The DVD Magazine is currently being distributed nationaly through Hot Topic, Tower Records, and Newburry Comics.
OBSIDIAN has been marked as one of North Carolina's most creative, and up-and-coming bands. They're currently shopping to labels and management/promotional companies across the United States.
