Now the idea was that we were gonna have a look at killing zoe at this venue tonight, as i'd read somewhere, so when we got in the place found they were already on stage, halfway through their final song of the night! They were the support act! Sounded bloody good though, so we'll be watching out for them to see if we can see a bit more of em next time. Headlining tonight was Obsidian Rain, they play a mixture of their own material with a few cover versions thrown in for good measure, citing their influences from the sleaze rock of Enuff Z Nuff and Skid Row to Van Halen, they open with one of their own songs Every Dog with vocalist Rich Southan snarling out the lyrics which reminded me of James Hetfield from Metallica, another of their own songs Nowhere to Hide followed, both of which are available to listen to on the bands Myspace website, next up was a storming version of Queens Tie Your Mother Down with Daz Wright on Guitar having a great time, even though i'd not heard any of their own meterial before the songs were very easy to get into and mixed in with some great covers made for a very good set, with perhaps the exception of Led Zeps Rock And Roll which could have done with being a bit faster and with more bollocks, luck it seems is not on the bands side as lately though, with bassist Clare Mallen playing with her foot in plaster, and all of the bands amps and speakers being nicked out the back of their van a few days before the gig, so they were playing tonights gig with loaned stuff, but it didn't seem to let it bother them, a special mention to Danny Dragon, who is one of the best drummers I've seen in a long time, he really pounded out each song as if it was the last thing he would ever do, brilliant, if you like a bit of sleaze crossed with punk and 80's metal, the band are playing regularly around the area so do your best to get to one of their gigs you'll have a fine time.

The snow has fallen and I'm sending you snowflakes of love and wishes for a beautiful Tuesday!
"On the first day of winter, the earth awakens to the cold touch of itself. Snow knows no other recourse except this falling, this sudden letting go over the small gnomed bushes, all the emptying trees.
Snow puts beauty back into the withered and malnourished, into the death-wish of nature and the deliberate way winter insists on nothing less than deference. waiting all its life, snow says, "Let me cover you." Laura Lush ~ The First Day of Winter

When our eyes see our hands doing the work of our hearts, the circle of Creation is completed inside us, the doors of our souls fly open, and love steps forth to heal everything in sight. Michael Bridge
In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. ~Albert Schweitzer If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give. ~George MacDonald There is magic in long-distance friendships. They let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound. ~Diana Cortes Across the miles, so far away... you are thought of every day! Thank you for being my friend! Blessings and love ~ Debra XOX

May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand. May the pain you have known and the conflict you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with courage and optimism. Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone. May you discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace. May a kind word, a reassuring touch, and a warm smile be yours every day of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them. Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.
Teach love to those who hate, and let that love embrace you as you go out into the world. May the teachings of those you admire become part of you, so that you may call upon them. Remember, those whose lives you have touched and whose have touched yours are always a part of you, even if the encounters were less than you would have wished. It is the content of the encounter that is more important than the form.
May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart. Find time each day to see beauty and love in the world around you. Realize that each person has limitless abilities, but each of us is different in our own way. What you feel you lack in the present may become one of your strengths in the future. May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility. Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience. May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself, and not be dependent on another's judgment of your accomplishments. May you always feel loved.
