It is with a heavy heart we announce that Obstruktor has officially disbanded.
We have grown in different directions musically, and none of us have been quite happy with our sound as of late. That, combined with the logistical issues of getting 5 busy people to band practice at the same time, and the lack of venues to play at, have brought the band to an untimely end.
We would like to thank the people, places and bands that have supported us over the last two years, without you guys we would have never left the basement! It has been a great pleasure sharing our love for metal with everyone in front of the stage, as well as the bands that we shared the stage with. Brutal hails all around!
We still have lots of merchandise available, if anyone is interested in picking up one or both of our CDs, a shirt, or any of our other items, send us a message and, if possible, we’ll arrange to get one to you. We’ll sell anything available at cost (you pay what we paid for it). CDs are $5/ea, T-Shirts are $5/ea, hats are $15/ea, stickers are free!
As for each of our members, and what we are doing now:
Matt Browning (bass guitar) is playing bass in Zingaia and rhythm guitar in Age of Nefilim.
Cameron Olson (drums) is playing drums in Doom Lit Sky.
Abe Kenney (lead guitar) is focusing on classical guitar.
Wade Hampton (vocals) is not currently in a project.
Rishi Saez (rhythm guitar) is forming another band, Emetivore, with Matt on bass. We have a few songs ready to start working on, which are characterized by lots of prime numbers, ugly chords, and “and-a-halfs”. Depending on scheduling, we may also have a practice area. We are seeking a drummer and another guitarist for now, and will be seeking a singer at a later date.
