Sounds Like
With influences like ours, the sound is erotically retrospective. A sound which has not truly been heard in the scene since the hay day of Black Sabbath. We aim to stir your interest (and your loins) with our soul caressing bass riffs, life-pulsing drum beats and dream-entwined melody.
Ocean Bend formed after answering an advertisement placed at The Mill, Rehearsal space, Preston. With years of experience under their belts in all areas of music Colin, Damien and Craig were all members of other successful local bands (see members section for details)), the guys quickly gelled to form the winning combination that you see today. Although they have toyed with the idea of adding a permanent keyboardist none has yet been found to enhance the sound enough to warrant the stage space. Ocean Bend have played Preston, Manchester and Liverpool city gigs along with many small town gigs around Chorley Bolton Leyland (offers welcome - lol!) however audiences have been thrilled to discover that the art of the good (this rules out Jon Bon Jovi) rock ballad is alive and thriving in these THREE unlikely rock leviathans. Looking for a new bass player (good bye and thank you Chris) Chris left after our last gig at The Venue in Preston on the 29/12 2007
it won't be long before a new player comes along people we're just waiting for the right one!

Ocean Bend debut album
EVERYDAY LIFE is now available to buy in all good TOWNSEND Record shops!
just like to say a big hello to our new bass player James Dunn (job done) we now have a bass player
Who knew throwing a plumber, a mechanic, and a warehouse operative into a room with a pile of musical toys and gadgets would turn out so well!! But here they are and what a job they make of it!! With such a diverse set moving from old-school, fine-textured, gritty ballad to rock-your-socks-off tracks that you can't fail to bounce, strut and gyrate to. With Drum solos to re-time your heartbeat, an interplay between the guitar and bass, which electrifies every single track and The bournvile of all vocals (smooth, dark and oh-so-sexy), these boys are 'da bomb' in a way has to be seen to be believed! Enjoymment exudes from every pore during performance and a lust for life unseen for many a day makes this band one to keep your eye on!
On their way upwards you can be sure these guys will be breaking hearts (and minor laws) in their search of drink and drums and wenches. If you want inner peace go take a yoga class, these three wanna teach you about pleasure and wild abandonment!
So grab a beer, turn it up loud and remember the Ocean Bend mantra:
" Carpe noctem! Carpe musica! Carpe cerevisi!"
(Seize the night! Seize the music! Seize the beer!)
reviews
"These guys may look like they come from trumpton but they play like they left their souls on the darkside of the River Styx."
"The knicker-melting vocals of "Smile" render all women in the room helpless to resist Colin's gravelly gourgeousness."
" A Giggling Groupy's Dream"
"amazing synergy"
"classic rock, spiced with classic indie, dressed with classic class"
Experience shows on their faces, flows through the soul to the fingertips and into the hearts and minds of all who are touched by music with such focus and talent."
"The haunting vocals of 'Pink Clouds' reach straight from heart to heaven."

Hi Doomlord! Thanks for your comment, it's nice touch informing about who does what on the songs, I love to know that sort of thing. I think you're right that Chemical Life is more likely to appeal to a wider audience. I'll be back!
