Gil Scott Heron, Brian Jackson, Jeff Buckley, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, John Lennon, Sarah Vaughan, Jill Scott, Tim Buckley, Erykah Badu, Neil Young, Weller - every one we have worked with.
Club o are Debbion Currie Main vocals and and James Burkmar music.
Debbion and James have worked together musically in many forms over the years :Son Of, Hungry World and more recently as Club -O .
Both can demonstrate a broad and eclectic range of experience and collaborations including Debbions work with 4AD records in the incarnation of 80's indie band Colourbox. Later working with such artists as Judge Jules, Viv Albertine, Dennis Bovell, Steve Beresford over the years.
James 's stint as a session singer for Erasure in the 80's took him all over with other sessions for Mute records at the time. Always prefering to perform his own music he has worked with in various bands over the years both as lead vocalist ,guitarist and more recently as a solo artist. ( see his myspace)
The name Club O came from promotion of the original Club O nights - featuring musicians, poets, dancers and other performers to form an eclectic mix much needed at the time in our home town Plus giving us somewhere interesting to play.
Debbion's unique perfect imperfect jazz tinged vocal combine with james' distinctive songwriting and production has become our own unique blend of psyco accoustic soul.
After many summer's spent playing a range of festivals including the Big Green Gathering, Summer Sunday and The Maker events in the south west
Debbion and James are concentrating solely on recording with a variety of
producers from different genres/musical styles and see what interesting sounds that brings.
We can also be seen frequenting the many accoustic/ open mic nites around the midlands and beyond trying out new material on a real audience
