With tons of enthusiasm and some musical experience, Zodiac roared out of the Bay Area Portuguese scene to become one of the most influential bands of its kind. Their signature sound consists of intense drum beats, melodic vocals, fierce rhythms, and a tight horn section. They've become the blueprint for many bands to follow, and proved to be an ideal antidote for the typical Portuguese music being churned out at the time.
Zodiac was founded in 1994 with the idea of making music that was their own, and different from the norm. The group boasts 8 members a keyboardist/lead vocalist, bassist, lead guitarist, drummer, percussionist, and 3 piece horn section. Zodiac has churned out 4 original CDs, as well as a compilation CD. Their latest CD, Mentirosa, has received critical acclaim from fans and the media. Over the years Zodiac has sold thousands of CDs and performed for thousands of adoring fans. They recognize that the sound and style of the band's music has changed and are excited to share their new music with the world.
We just got the pictures of my sisters wedding back and it brought back the great memories of how much fun we had that night. I wanted to share a few pics with you guys.
Sorry, but I have a huge complaint about Zodiac.....
I attended last night's dance in Mountain view and today my feet are in pain from dancing so much. It's all Zodiac's fault :p (Ok, maybe the shoes I was wearing could have had some part in that too)
But still, how dare you guys play great, entertaining music that makes people want to shake their groove thing all night long. Now I just want to go to another festa. I'm hooked ;)
I haven't been to a dance where Zodiac has played in like 2 years. It was well worth going last night. So in other words.....You guys are awesome!!!!! Great Job and thanks for making it a good time. My cousin and I really enjoy it.
I wanted to thank each and every one of you for helping to make my sisters wedding a success!! We were really worried about having a live Portuguese band with alot of the guests being American, but you guys really pulled it off. I had lots of our American friends say how good you guys were and how much they enjoyed dancing to both the American music and the Portuguese music. I know you guys were great when one of the groomsman, who had shared his concerns about having a portuguese band at the wedding, actually bought a CD from you!! I had such a great time, too bad it had to end early!! My sister and the rest of us were ready to dance all night!! LOL!! I also wanted to say a special THANK YOU to the guys that helped us set up for the video. I am not sure which one of you helped me out the most, you know who you are, but you were my savior. Things were really going bad for us on Friday night and when things were not working out on Saturday moring and I thought we were not going to have a video to watch I really started to freak out, but you kept me together everytime you brought me what I needed!! You really don't know how much I appreciated that!! Thank you very very much!!
For those of you reading this, if you are planning a wedding were you have both Portuguese and American guests, I would recommend "O Conjunto Zodiac" to play at your wedding. They were very professional, friendly and very helpful to our needs. Just make sure that you leave alot more time for dancing!! I know that we wish we did!!
