OCTAGONO is just not another DJ for the charts, he is a brilliant producer that combines his musical talent with an original mixture of elements and without any restrictions, creates for what a lot of people believe is the new generation of dance music. He knows how to keep the crowd rocking and dancing all night long. Born in Santiago, the second biggest city of the Dominican Republic, his curiosity for the electronic industry began in 1996 and in 1998 started with his friend DJ HCast the radio show “Sonorama”, responsible for bringing electronic music to the whole North Side of the island. In order to truly open his eyes to the power of this new and exciting genre it was necessary for him to leave the country and attend the most famous festivals around the world such as Sonar, Monegros Desert Festival, WMC ULTRA and many others, as well as some serious club hopping in NYC, Barcelona (His hometown for a couple of years), Ibiza, Miami, Colorado, Frankfurt, California and Las Vegas. These experiences just made him get more passionate and convinced about become a DJ and creating a style of his own. Back in the Dominican Republic he used his newly acquired musical influences to become one of the most prominent DJs of the Northern region with a continuously growing fan base due to his amazing sets: full of breathtaking minimalistic sounds and hard tech beats. With a peculiar and very personal sense of music, OCTAGONO , who also produces under the name R.R.G takes his influences from DJs and producers of the likes of Jeff Mills, Mistress Barbara, Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing and Adam Beyer to name a few, identifying himself only with the best in the industry. For 2007 the career of OCTAGONO is focused on his debut as a producer with the launching of several productions of his own, presentations in Festivals, gigs all over the country, and invitations to play internationally in major events and exotic locales throughout Latin America. Just remember this name because without a doubt he’ll soon be one of your favorites.
