The late, great Maestro, Dr. Carl Suppa was my first piano teacher. And he was a legend. He often guest conducted the Philadelphia Orchestra, and dedicated so much of his valuable time to the Armenian Sisters Academy, where I went to grade school. A real cool and funny guy who is very missed.

I am often told I play like Ben Folds. Which is a huge compliment. The best compliment I receive when playing at a piano bar or lounge is when someone comes up to me and tells me they weren't sure if they were hearing the real song or someone covering it.
Another good compliment is when I am told I have a nice ass.
I play completely by ear, so people sometimes tell me it sounds like I am playing the guitar "on the piano." I try to cover all parts of the song, so I will play lots of "non-piano" songs on the piano. My singing is passable, but the show is probably livelier and funnier as a result.
I have been featured on Fox 29 in Philadelphia, playing at One Liberty Place. I have also been featured on yahoo.com, starring in an episode of "hook me up".
I have been the regular pianist at the piano lounge in the Loews Hotel in Center City Philadelphia, as well as at the King George Inn in Bristol, PA and D'Ignazzio's Townehouse in Media. (and The Celt and O'Carolans in Tokyo, Japan). I also did a 2-year run at the Piano Bar @ 20th and Arch, but I am no longer there. So, if you want to see me, it won't be there.
I just finished a 6 month stint at Helium Comedy Club which was a blast. Lots of interesting people came by to check that out, and I hope to resume that in the fall.
These days, I am doing Thursday nights at 2nd Street Annie's right in my neighborhood of Northern Liberties, Philadelphia. (located at Front and Fairmount). I also play Monday nights at Slainte Pub (30th and Market) - right near my office. WORLDS COLLIDING.
I guess I am the band. I've been playing piano since I was 4 years old (come on....one of you comedians say it.....and boy are my hands tired......brutal).....
Took lessons through high school, but I play completely by ear now. Been playing by ear since I was about 9 or 10 years old.
If I have ever heard a song, I can play it. My playlist is pretty diverse. From Aerosmith to Warren Zevon with everything else in between (Beatles, Billy Joel, Beyonce, Poison, Motley Crue, U2). Pretty much everything but Jazz and showtunes.....which is what most piano bar managers want. But I won't change my style unless absolutely needed.
After all, was it not Ivan Drago from Rocky IV who said, "I play for me!!!! For me!!!" (actually, I think it was, "I fight for me....FOR ME"!!! and he said it in Russian, so it was really something like, "Yasebya....YASEBYA"!!!)

Oh my god! I was gonna ask you to play it too!!
