I have been a Face Painter since 1984.
Currently I face paint at 2 Renaissance Festivals:
*ARIZONA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL* Look for me next to the big Crystal Stix booth and down the lane from Jim the Blacksmith.
*MINNESOTA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL* Look for me by the Tree Top Stage. Right next to the Fairy Wings! We call this area "Fairy Central" because we have everything for your fairy needs...fairy wings, fairy houses, fairy makeup! Be sure to check out the fairy doors in the big old oak tree, right next to my tent. Never know when you might glimpse a fairy. But please knock first before you open the door!UPDATE: The festival management, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to move me and all the peddlers around me out of the shady area...so that all the patrons can have the shade. I understand that I won't be moved far...probably by the juggling school...so you will have to look for me.
So far, somewhere around 200,000 people have received one of my paintings. For 15 years, I was a face and body painter full time, on the Renaissance Festival circuit.
I love face painting! I am a mural painter (see my pics) and jewelry designer but face painting is still, after all these years, one of my passions.
The process of painting on people and the connection with people that face painting allows, brings joy to my life.
I am known for the way I interact with people. In my booth face painting is not just about the "art" but about the experience. I am interested in creating experiences for people.
At two festivals I have been painting long enough for the children I have painted, to have grown up. Now they are bringing me their children!
Some people say it is too bad that the paintings wash off. But I prefer to say that I am in the business of creating memories...those that last long after the make up washes off!
