Odea has been making music since she was a little child. Her father tricked her into writing songs by making her believe she wrote songs even though he did it at first. It made her think it was very easy and so she went ahead and wrote song after song all by herself since she was 7. Her first instrument was piano, didn’t go very well as she had one of “those” teachers… Had a go at the violin but that was not her thing either, the accordion was too boring and then when she turned 8 she got a hold of a guitar and they’ve been friends ever since.
Most of her songs are in Swedish which is the language she write her poetry and songs in. On the blog you will be able to read what the songs are about.
Odea lives to help others and found a way to instill hope in others through her music and songs. She also went to Indonesia several times to help the victims of the Tsunami and after the earthquake. She was there as a volunter Minister for the church of scientology.
Odea is also an active member of "Youth for Human Rights", which you can find more information at www.youthforhumanrights.org.
She has written over hundreds of songs and with this last record she wanted to create a fairytale in the moonlight and take you through a magical journey through time.
In the past she has written music and lyrics for other artists. One of her accomplishments is making songs together with her brother, Johan Söderqvist who was awarded at Cannes for best film music 2006.
She also made the music to a poem by a famous Swedish poet, Nils Ferlin, that was sung by Maritza Horn on one of her albums. (Maritza Horn is a famous Swedish singer.)
This new CD called "Bodyless Soul" is a project that Odea has been working on for quite a while and she is now very pleased to post these songs up here for you to listen to.
