About OdESSA

We started out in 2002 playing a residency every 2nd friday at a Wellington bar called Amba (now long gone) which quickly turned into the most kicking place in town. After a couple of years we were pretty well-known so we recorded our first album called 'Oak Park Avenue', which came out in the beginning of summer 2005. Though it failed to capture the power of our live sound, it did pretty well, exceeding our relatively modest expectations. That summer lasted over a year. Since then we've toured a lot and made many, many friends and had a great time. We made another record in 2007 called 'The Prize'. Now, a lot of people didn't get it at the time, but its a really good album. I urge you to investigate - or, if you already 'own' it, listen again. At least 'Side 1' anyway. In June 2009 we announced that we were calling an end to the group after seven brilliant years. Thanks to all who were a part of it!
