dR. O was driving to Georgia when Hurricane Katrina destroyed his house in Gulfport, Ms. and studio in Ocean Springs, MS. A few days later dR. O said "Go F*ck Yourself Mr. Cheney" to The Dick Cheney which later became known as the shot heard round the world globally but in the red state of Mississippi that made many people mad at dR. O...dR. O don't know why? LOL
dR. O has been busy rebuilding since the storm, working full time in the ER, inventing several new things with patents pending, painting, making movies, traveling the world, and also periodically writing/recording songs for dR. O's "The Real American Idol" album which includes the songs currently playing on this site.
dR.O's music could best be described as a lyrical Mississippi Madman preaching to the choir of humans who actually believe in REALITY layed over the top of a musical mixup combining the best of the Smashing Pumpkins, Pink Floyd, James Brown, The Doors, Metallica, Disturbed, The Beatles, and Weezer!
dR. O achieved Rolling Stone's "Best Televised Sound Bite Of The Year" for 2005
dR. O performed in the " September Concert" in NYC on 091102, 091103, and 091104. (see septemberconcert.org )
dR. O performed at CBGB's on 091106 shortly before it closed permanently!
dR. O has also played shows with Black Sabbath, Queensryche, Alice Cooper, Kittie, Stabbing Westward, Days of the New, STP, The Toadies, Godsmack, etc.
dR. O was honored to be asked to perform the GO F*CK YOURSELF MR. CHENEY song in front of the WHITE HOUSE on 091107!
dR. O was also honored to play the role of Jesus in "The Day Jesus Shoe'd Bush and Cheney the door" filmed in front of the White House on Bush and Cheney's last day in office!
dR. O did NOT get arrested during the filming after all the hundreds of people threw shoes at the effigies of Bush and Cheney and then threw them over the WHITE HOUSE fence! (Only one person was arrested that day and he was standing at least 10 feet away from me besides....I knew they wouldn't arrest Jesus!)
dR. O recently gave a brief speech at the UNITED NATIONS on 091109 so that really has nothing to do with the band but it was fun and I was able to introduce a good friend of mine to perform one of his hit songs called "I Hate Hate"
dR. O hopes that he doesn't break the record set by "Chinese Democracy" for longest time from announcement to release of an album i.e. hopefully dR. O's "The Real American Idol" will finally be complete and released soon!
