Formed in late 2004, Odus Driftwood hails from the New Brunswick, NJ area.
Country, folk and blues are stripped down and blended for a unique sound based in traditional Americana. Set lists consist of original material, as well as covers ranging from Hank Williams to Bob Dylan.
Eric Squindo (guitar, vocals) has performed for many years as a solo artist, as well as being a founding member of such bands as Great North Special (grateful dead cover band), The Hub City Ramblers, and Along Came Jones. In 2003, he released his first solo album, 'roadsick', which was chosen as the 7th top local album of the year by The Home News Tribune. Besides songwriting, Eric has nearly completed his first novel and has written several childrens books with his brother Tony. Jason Fritz (bass) has been a staple in the central Jersey music scene for several years. As a member of such bands as Fatty Lumpkin, Indianburn, Great North Special, The Hub City Ramblers, Beyond, and Along Came Jones, he has shown a wide variety of style and talent.
Matthew Goldstein (mandolin) picked up the mandolin in 2004 and hasn't put it down since. His laid back style and improvisational licks have helped create the Odus Driftwood sound.
The band is currently busy with other projects. In the meantime check out www.myspace.com/ericsquindo & www.myspace.com/indianburn
