Biography Oeler

Favourably affected by concerts of local rock and pop bands Oeler started his drum instruction in 1991 at the age of fourteen. Stylistically he soon shifts to the jazzy side of music and started to collaborate with various band projects. At the age of eighteen Oeler had his crucial experience with electronic produced music by listening to a concert of the famous german band "Die Fantastischen Vier". From this special moment on he was fascinated by the appreciable energy of danceable rhythms and Oeler began searching for Bands who were also inspired by Electronika.

He was under the spell to move the audience to dance to his music and not just to listen, so he moved away from jazz to the musical genre of electropop. However his dream to make people dance did not come true. Thus he went on his journey to find his own unique vision of drum and rhythm based music which he couldn’t find previously. In early 2005 Oeler decided to concentrate his musical activities on studio projects and started to produce lots of Remixes and own Electronika Tracks. The result was his first Album Drum..n..Space ( distributed for free in March 2007 on Modularfiel Netlabel. )

In 2006 Oeler had his second crucial experience with electronic music in late 2006 by listening to an early mix of Gabriel Anandas album track "Jojo" - His passion for techno music was born. At the same time Gabriel Ananda was very impressed by Oelers extraordinarily gifted skills on the drums and while Gabriel swaped melody for acoustic African drums he requested Oeler to perform the add on drums for his second album "Bambusbeats" which has been released on Karmarouge Records in spring 2007.

At the same time Oeler began to spent most of his time in his studio to improve his live artist skills and work on his first techno productions. A few months later he had his first release on Karmarouges 12" compilation "Traumschwiegersöhne" followed by several local gigs in the Cologne area. Nowadays he is bringing the live experience in his own style back to the clubs again, in order to live his greatest dream: “Twirl the crowd round the dance floor!”

In January 2009 Oeler also starts a second Project with his pseudonym TravOeler in order to create more experimental downtempo Tracks and open himself again for the other kinds of electronic beats.
