From humble beginnings busking on a bridge over the River Thames and first appearing on stage in an Art College bar in Scotland, the five fresh-faced members of 'i said yes' have since taken their upbeat folk-pop to many other corners of the UK, playing at various venues in London, Oxford, Bristol and at various festivals last summer. 2008 saw 'i said yes' being played on XFM and 6music, featured on the XFM 'new music rising' podcast and being included in the line-up's of festivals such as Offset, Green Man Fayre and Hidden Festival. 2009 has seen inclusion on a couple more BBC Introducing shows and the opportunity to play at a few more festivals, including Linkylea Festival, Pewsey Music Festival and the BBC Introducing Stage at the Swindon Shuffle...
'i said yes' recently spent New Year in Joe Robertson's attic in Edinburgh, recording three new songs which you can listen to above.
Without Joe's patience and brilliance, they'd be but a shadow of the recordings that they are now.
The very talented professional photographer, Tina Hillier, recently (and very generously) gave up some of her time to take some photos of us...
The results are soon to be seen on this page, you can see more of her work here.... http://www.tinahillier.com/
All the wonderful graphics on this page, (and the lovely music video) were made by the most excellent Fiona Storey (graphic designer extraordinaire).
The black and white photographs found on the left hand side of this page were taken by the talented Laurence Callaghan, and for the very colourful photos of us playing at the Ansun Rooms in Bristol we are very grateful to Nikita Winayak.
