Of Crime and Passion, a Buffalo-based entity bent on sonic domination since it’s conception in 2004 has finally reached a point unprecedented in the band’s history. After years of mixing and matching members, vocalist and songwriter Daniel Marin has finally found and integrated a lineup that has turned out to be the perfect manifestation of his vision: An original mix of aggressive electronic-rock that transcends cosmic limitations. With drummer Asaf Nisim breaking beats, and bassist Kimberly Boulden bruising bass-lines, the rhythm section is complete. As for harmony, guitarist Matt Schaffer kicks it with keyboardist Zachary Himmelsbach to create the perfect blend of color in sound. Marin himself sites his major influences as The Cure, Morrissey, The Dears, Danzig, and a-Ha among others yet OCAP’s sound only truly speaks for itself.
