Who is Leonard Peltier?
Leonard Peltier, is a member of the Anishinabe Dakota and Lakota Nations. A participant in the American Indian Movement, he went to assist the Oglala Lakota people on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in the mid-1970s with community development. On June 26, 1975, a shoot out occurred between FBI agents and members of the American Indian community at Pine Ridge resulting in the death of two FBI Agents and one American Indian.
Leonard Peltier was convicted in the deaths of the two FBI agents based on fabricated testimony and circumstantial evidence. He has been incarcerated in federal prisons since 1976.

The Leonard Peltier Defense Offense Committee (LPDOC) is the center of communication between Leonard Peltier and his program coordinators, the general public, government officials, political and tribal leaders, the media, and his supporters worldwide.
Leonard would like to get reacquainted with all of his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and all of his family members whom he has lost contact with over the years. He would also like to meet all the friends who has stood by him through all these years being behind bars.
Leonard is so thankful for all his friends and supporters and loves each and every one of you and can't wait to meet you in person.
