Biography
The Juggernaut's history began in 2005 in the city of Blumenau, Santa Catarina, when Celio Jr. decided to leave the Thrash Metal band Rhestus, which he was guitarist, to focus on a new project. To assist in this mission, the friends Daniel Justen (bass / vocals) and Edinho (drums) were invited, both former members of the band In Nomine.
The proposal was to make a thrash metal (with influences from Death, Sadus and Destruction), but keeping away from cliches and also merging elements of Metal and progressive rock in bands like Dream Theater, Marillion, Rush. To name the band was chosen the name "Juggernaut" which means a great mass destruction, who fits exactly with the proposal: to make a quick thrash metal, heavy and very technical.
In October 2005 the band released their first studio record, the Demo-CD "Juggernaut" with three tracks, which received excellent reviews in specialized media. In May 2006 the first line-up change: Edison leaves the drums and Carlos assumes and enters Fabricio Duwe to help Celio on second guitar.
In November 2006 the band released their first full length album "Lines of the Edge," with 10 tracks, which was very well received by the media and opened the door to, in February 2007, play their first tour entitled "Thrashing on the Edge " which traveled through several states of Brazil and other South American countries. At the end of the tour, in September 2007, Daniel Justen and Fabricio leaves the band and Camila Silva (Crucera) and Emerson Niederauer (Jailor) both assumes vocals and bass respectively.
This new lineup took a huge leap in the quality of compositions, bringing an even more progressive influence for the band, which starts the compositions of their second full length. In August 2008, Emerson and Camilla left the band to live abroad.
Celio and Carlos decides, even with the band incomplete, start recording the album when in early 2009, a pleasant surprise: Cicero (Overthrash) assume the vocals and Valda, who shared the stage with Celio Jr at the time of Rhestus, assumes the bass. Eager to launch a high quality album and doing everything independently, it was obvious that it would take longer to release. And that was the band did in 2009: a few shows and put a lot of energy in recording new songs.
With the album still unfinished, Carlos left the band in February 2010 for the entry of Wilson on drums. The band decided to hold the record's release until Wilson is well acquainted with the new songs. Finally in August 2011 the band released their long awaited full length "Ground Zero Conflict" with seven tracks, bringing a totally new band, mature and with a much more professional, even for the fact that produced completely independently.
In 2012 the band plans to start a new tour to spread the new album and definitely work hard to consolidate the name of Juggernaut overseas.
