About me:

An online publisher since the Dark Ages of the Internet, Randy Cassingham is the author of the weird-but-true news commentary column, This is True, as well as the outrageous-but-true lawsuits site, the True Stella Awards. His other web sites include Jumbo Joke (a joke site), the Dvorak Keyboard info site, the Internet Spam Primer, the Bonzer Web Site of the Week (cool web sites), and Cranky Customer (a blog about really bad customer service). Randy is also the creator of the very popular Get Out of Hell Free card, and his newest site is the Weird News bookmarking site, Groxx.

Who I'd like to meet:
Mozart -- it'd be nice to let him to know his music is still being performed and listened to.

And Hey: Wake Up!

I do not approve comments that are nothing more than graphics -- especially graphics that you got from some dumb site that does nothing more than advertise that site. Be more creative. I'm a writer: if you want to get my attention, write something!

As always-great issues! Alas, one day I will not be a poor college student (or so everyone keeps telling me that one day it ends and I have to join the "real world") and can get the premium issue!

I had a program code inspection today and thought it would be quite stressing and heated conversation there, so I thought I'd take some GOOHF cards with me. But everything went quite well and smoothly, I didn't need any cards. ;o)

You're in Ridgway, I'm in Vail; looks like our gimpy knees haven't kept us from moving around this big, square state of ours.

I gave Gallagher a GOOHF card at a comedy club recently. He found it amusing and expected it to come in handy.

Hi Randy,

Greetings from the land of the ice bears!
I'm sitting at my computer with my TisT shirt on and have enjoyed my weekly dose of laughter, actually I had it already yesterday but reread it today. People do the most darnedest things, I hope I never find myself in your letter!
Oh, many thanks for adding me, too!

Thank you for the add!

In 2002, my wife brought home a "GOOHF" card that a customer had given her at the sandwich shop where she worked. I thought it was hillarious so, naturally, I had to follow any link printed on the card. I'm glad I did. I've been reading This is True® and The TRUE Stella Awards© ever since.

She's my ex-wife now, but I'll stick with "True" and "Stella" until the end. Thank you so very much! :)

Is that a New Look Randy??
In this photo you look quite different, somewhat sexy-sinister.

Have wholesome legal fun.

A boat docked in Ferragudo, a tiny fishing village in the Algarve region in the South of Portugal.

Bob, an American tourist complimented “Peixoto”, the Portuguese fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them. "Not very long," answered Peixoto.

"But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked Bob. Peixoto explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family. Bob asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs... I have a full life." Bob interrupted, "I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat."

And after that?" asked Peixoto.

With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middleman, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to a great City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge new enterprise."

"How long would that take?" asked Peixoto. "Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years," replied Bob.

"And after that?"

"Afterwards? Well my Friend, That's when it gets really interesting," answered Bob, laughing. "When your business gets really big, you can start selling stocks and make millions!"

"Millions? Really? And after that?" said Peixoto.

"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends."

Meaning :

Yes, your future is hidden in your daily routine but remember life is short, know what’s important; think about where you're headed because there’s a good chance you may be there already.

I wish you a “clear thinking” very Merry Christmas

Warm Regards

Luis Peixoto
